Vent....for those who are against Vaccinations

I just wanted to vent a little about the doctors appt. I just had but I don't want to hear from people telling me to get my kids vaccinated, I'm not going to and I don't want to hear it, so if you post I'll ignore.
ARRRRGGGGHHHHH! So I moved to town a couple of months ago and so far have only been able to get appt at clinics or with docs who barely speak english. So I was super excited when I got an appt with one of the best docs in town who decided to start accepting new patients for a short time. Well after we're half way into our consultation he asks me if they're vaccinated. Now most docs ask me this and advise me to do it but aren't overly pushy about it. Well this guy told that in his practice it was a non-negotiable, madatory, important thing to do and until the kids are caught up they would be quarrantined every time they came into the office. He assumed that because of how adamate he was that of course I was going to do it and told me to go to the health center and they would set me up on a program to get my kids caught up. He then called all those people who scare us into not vaccinating criminal and thefact that I didn't vaccinate was also criminal. I tried to talk to him about my concerns and he either glossed over them saying that he hadn't heard that so it wasn't true (even tho, my concerns have been documented in the product monographs) or he completely dismissed it and went on to describe different reasons why other vaccinations were necessary, eg. my social responsibility, heard protection, children still die, etc. He wasn't even open to discussing my fears let alone my opinion. It's really too bad cuz he's such a good doctor otherwise and it took me forever to get into see him and now I have to go find another doctor cuz he won't see my kids.

uhm im pretty sure what he did is illegal ..... iw ould look into that and report that asshole .

What an asshole. I think that's illegal, what he did.

I'd at least report it to the BBB.
I vaccinate, and I think that's a douche thing to do on his part!

Wow, it sucks that he was such a douche about the whole situation. But, in his defense maybe he is just making sure that all his other patients are safe. But he certainly didn't have to be such an asshole to you about the whole thing.

I would look into reporting him or filing a formal complaint, since that's not allowed (and possibly not legal).

Think of it this way... if he was so stuck in his ways about it, do you really want him as your doctor anyway? Who knows what other concerns of yours he'll gloss over...

How do I go about finding out if it is illegal?

Wow, thats total bullshit. I would get another pedi and be sure to let that asshole know that you don't appreciate him infringing on YOUR LEGISLATIVE RIGHT.

I would call the BBB, they should be able to tell you.

And I totally get that, and if he wants to quarantine me every time I'm cool with that.

I feel your pain... his actions were in complete contradiction to the AAP's Redbook about how dr's should react to parents who choose to not vaccinate or choose an alternative schedule... but I've faced such doctors before. It makes finding a pediatrician SO difficult. I even had a dr in the ER try to scare me with the whole "your kid can't go to school" schpeil, which I'm sure we've all heard
 

sounds like he is a good dr.

  wow thats crazy, I didnt know doctors can deny you service because of that.
