my daughter (5 1/2 mths) freaks when i wear a ponytail...like literally looses her shit lol...she screams bloody murder... until i put my hair down than she calms down...why is that?

She is probably just used to the way you look with it down. My son was so confused when Igot my hair cut. He was really reluctant to come to me any everything for the first few hours until he got used to it. Good luck!
ETA- also he was around 6 months when he was very worried when I got my hair cut. He seemed like he didnt know who I was. He is ok when I get it cut now.

Do you usually wear your hair down? My daughter used to be afraid of me with sunglasses on because I always forget them and she hardly ever sees me in them.

seriously though..... babies sight and cognitive stuff is a little limited... she WILL adjust and be ok with it, shes just used to her mommy looking a certain way, and she doesnt understand why suddenly you look differently.... if you do both a lot, she will get used to it.

My LO cries bloody murder when men wear ball caps. I was very careful when I changed my appearance around her... heck I was afraid she wouldn't know who I was if I changed the body wash scents I used in the beginning. LOL!

Garrett did that when I dyed my hair really dark. He was about8 mos old or so, he just stared at me like I was a stranger until I talked to him, lol. The he just looked confused for a little while
