Need help finding a law... anyone help? pleeaseee

Is anyone good at looking up laws and issues?

I have a question im trying to find the law on it, if there is one.

Does a parent relinquish their rights if the move out of the country without taking it to court first? (State is Kansas)

im pretty sure that is considered abandonment

if they move out of the country I would consider that abandonment.

my friends ex husband was from albania and he left the country during their divorce .. she ended up taking it to court to use against him in the custody battle and she got sole custody and he is only allowed 1 day a month supervised visits and he has to pay child support.. they considered him a flight risk if he had unsupervised.. he hasnt seen their son in a few years though

I looked it up and on abandonment, it didnt say a thing about out of country.. it listed out of state, it had to be 2-3 years (I forget which) with no contact.

He on occasion, when its conveinent for him, talks to her once in a while. He's been in China for 4-5 months and plans on a total of 2 years.

I would get a pro-bono lawyer

Their are lawyers that you can at least call and get free advice from.....

I would call your local county courthouse. They usually can point you in the general direction. Some lawyers also offer a free consultation and will give free legal advice

Thats an Idea. Someone told me to call the bar association and to ask... but i would think they would tell me to get a lawyer. lol

I tried to get a lawyer pro-bono when I was going through a custody case with my daughter and let me tell you they are HARD to find....they usually only do pro bono cases when there is abuse involved. The bar association told me the same thing...actually the lady pretty much laughed at me and said "honey, lawyer don't grow on trees...they need money as much as you and me"
