Friday it will be.....

my "due date." Although right beside me lays a two month old beautiful baby boy. He came into this world in August. Weighing in at 3 pounds 9 ounces. He was 9 1/2 weeks premature. Born at roughly 31 weeks. (30w5d). He is now 6 pounds 11 ounces and out of the NICU. He's been home for a little while. I'm so amazed the transformation this pregnancy had on my life. When I first got pregnant it was a text book pregnancy. Then I started having complications, bad morning sickness, constant hospital stays, threatened miscarriages, then finally got diagnosed with an Incompetent Cervix. I had a Cerclage put in the next day. I had PROM scares, and more vaginal bleeding the whole bit. I wasn't even allowed to get up to pee toward the end of the pregnancy. Our goal was to make it to 35 weeks, then see how it goes but if there was any distress we would deliver immediately. Late On August 19th, I had what I thought were MAJOR BH's. Then I noticed some increased vaginal bleeding and had very bad pain and rushed to the emergency room. The nurse told me I was in labor. I actually remember what I said " well fuck, you got to be fucking kidding me!" Thinking about it now not the smartest idea. At around 11ish I felt an incredible urge to push....I had him at 11:45. He wasn't breathing so well, I kissed him and he went to the NICU. He was in there for 7 long ass weeks. I cried daily, I still suffer from stress and PPD. On a positive note, my family and other children are adjusting to him well and me on the other hand is actually thrilled to have more love in the bunch. Although, I could not do ANY of this without BG. You guys helped me through the biggest hurdles in my life. I remember you guys loved me unconditionally and you didn't know me in real life. From one website, I've met beautiful loving mothers, who have became some of my best friends. So thank you so much ladies for helping me, and letting me share my story

awwww i love miracle babies!!!! i was in a similar situation and when my due date rolled around I just looked at my baby so blessed she was healthy and home with me.

I am so happy to hear that your baby boy is doing so well. I had my daughter 13 weeks premature, spent 12 weeks 1 day in the NICU with her, she has been home for about 2 months now, but I will never forget what I went through, but I am sure you will agree with me on this, I would do it all again in a heartbeat to get what I got out of it. She is perfectly healthy, weighs 9 1/2 lbs, and she just started laughing and smiling, that smile makes all that time so very worth it. I still cry sometimes, but what I am happy about, is that they don't remember anything they went through and for that, I am thankful

OMG do you ever look through her NICU pics and just get so emotional! Happy and Sad all at the same time. Im sad b/c she looked so tiny and helpless in there but happy she's so healthy!

First of all, Congratulations with a healthy beautiful baby girl.
Secondly, yes I know what you mean. Even though the pregnancy and the nicu stay scared the hell out of me I would do it over in a heartbeat

My preemie is 10 in April, I still count the IV scars on his wrists and ankles sometimes, he calls them his lucky spots.

I remember when he came out of hospital at 4 months of age the same size as a newborn, all the funny looks we would get.

All the time! I look at them and say that cannot be the same baby, and I look at her then, and cry and say how proud I am of her, she has come so far, she is my little fighter. How early was your baby?

Congrats on your preemie turning 10 soon. How early was he?

I got to be friends with someone who had their baby at 23 weeks, her daughter was in the same NICU as mine, we still keep in touch, and her daughter just came home a little over a month ago, and is doing so great. It surprises what they can do for babies now.

My second was born at 24 weeks, had a LONG stay in the nicu.

33 weeks! she was 3lb 9oz and in the NICU for 2 weeks-now at 4 months she's 10lb 10oz
