C-section and Infection..Twice!

My incision started bleeding really bad this afternoon ( Not sure how long it has been bleeding, didn't look at it sense yesterday afternoon) I was at the hospital with my girls (in NICU) and I kept smelling something bad around me, like smelly feet or a dirty period pad. I got home and still smelt it and reached down to feel my incision and it was soaked! Long story short its still infected bad and right in the middle of my incision is still open, the doctor stuck a Q-tip in the hole  :cry   FKN HURT LIKE A BITCH) twice to get a culture. defiantly something going on with it, at this point they are not sure if its coming from the inside or out..? Cause the incision itself looks okay' so he is thinking something is wrong inside sense its been almost 4 weeks! On two doses of antibiotics and Vicodins 750's proxcide and saline 3 times a day, for a week go to my Doc Mon..Not sure if they will put me under to reopen the incision, if it doesn't get better in a week???? I was having cold sweats as well for a while and the chills out of no where..yeah signs of infection! Didn't no that then... 

Anyone have this issue and have to be cut open again or had it heal?? I have also been told not to have anymore kids due to so much scare tissue from my last C-section 7 years ago! Now with all these complications I see why

don't worry. this is very rare.

I had my incision open up 2 weeks pp. Is he having you stuff it with packing gauze? I had to do that for 4 days, changing it twice a day. It sucked, my poor hubby. But it healed up great after that.

if it doesn't get better they will have to reopen it and clean it out. my incision didnt get infected and i didnt have any leaking or bleeding from it so im not really sure what advice to give you. i hope it gets better soon!

Once you are done cleaning it, do NOT cover it up directly. Take your hair dryer and put it on low, lay down on your bed and blow dry it.
Sounds funny but it helps a lot.

It is rare that it happens, but it certainly does. I had it happen too. Not as bad as the OPs thogh.

Don't get freaked this didn't happen with my first one, but like I said I have a lot of scare tissue and its making it hard to heal!

My doctor actually gave me a cloth silver strip to place over my incison. I could wash it off easily and for the first week I wore it religiously. Silver is a healing agent. I never had any issues at all with my incision.

Yes after I do the prozcide and saline treatment then I have to cover it, then air it out for 10-15 mins a couple times a day. all I know it freakn hurt when he stuck the Q-tip in the hole!!!! I sure hope I don;t have to be re-opened!!

So you are actually sticking the guaze all the way down with the qtip? In all honesty. Yes, it hurts like HELL, but it heals great if you do it.

Thanks' I know I didn't have this issue with my first c-section..! this time around sucks!

No he stuck the Q-tip in the hole then sent it to lab! I have gauze over my incision right now and then i have to clean it out 2-3 times a day then cover it back up. I just got out the hospital a few hrs ago. I'm almost 4 weeks PP!

Eeek, I would have thoght he would have you packing it. That is what my doctor did. I was 2 weeks PP. It healed up so fast. But I didnt have an infection, so maybe he wants to see how bad it is first. I had to have my hubby pack it for me, withthe back of the huge qtips pushing it in. Damn I was in pain.
