TBof10; Very long--worth the read!

This is where you should chat if you would like to. Everyone is welcome.

Basically, here's the scoop:

I am writing a book. This book is going to be about the products we use daily. It will be a reference novel, for new moms and seasoned mothers to learn about the products that we find to be the best for our babies ourselves while pregnant, and for our older children.
There will be several product "contests" Your job is to pick the best product you have found that has worked for you.

Enteries and voting will be open for one week each..
The book will have each category as a chapter. The best of 2010, if you will. If it takes off, then there will be one for each following year to see which products go the furthest and to include the new and upcoming things that are being
developed every day.

When entering your view into the contest, you have two options. You can just post the name of the product and leave, or you can leave a review of the product. By leaving a review of the product, you must decide if you wish to remain
anonymous or not.. By choosing to post your review, you are agreeing to have your review posted in the book, along with your age, how many children you currently have, and your first name and last initial. You are also agreeing to allow me to revise your review for spelling and grammatical errors.

Please be sure to post the information request in the original contest post every time. Some posts may have special requirements, so read it everytime!!
I may not count your vote if you do not follow the rules.

If you do not wish for your name to be posted in the book, should I use your review, then be sure to post that you do not want me to. Otherwise, everyone has an equal chance at having their name posted.


For instance, here's an example of what a chapter will look like:

Chapter Title: Disposable Diapers

A description of the type of product.

1st place product with the image of the product.

(Possibly an image of one of our babies using the product.. I am unsure if I want to go through the legalities of doing this.)

A review, written by one of you ladies.

2nd place

3rd place

Honorable mention, should the 4th place product come within so many votes of the 3rd place, or if there is an
unbreakable tie.

Each placing may have a review written by one of you ladies.

If you ever wanted to have a chance to be in a book, this could be it!



I will try and keep, at the very least, two voting posts per month going.

If for some reason, I can not get the voting up on time, PLEASE do not take this over for me. I would like to be the only one running these contests.


This post is for the terms and conditions of this contest. The first contest will start today the 19th of October. If you have any questions or suggestions for the contest, the book, or for myself, please post it here, or PM me. I would like to have NO conversational posts in the contest threads so that the information I need is there without excess chatter.

Every member will be thanked at the end of the book. , please leave your first name and initial with every post you make unless you do not wish to be mentioned in the book.

I don't want to steal your thunder or whatever, but it should also include the WORST thing to buy. It might help in some sitautions.

I was planning on includin this as a type of contest, but I am wondering about my time constraints, and about legalities about publishing a not so nice thought toward companies. (There are certain companies that I refuse to buy from.)

This may be added, closer to the end when I can guesstimate my time better, and after I research the legal aspects.

Maybe you could do one chapter at the end that is alphabetical reviews of products that we don't like. That way you don't have to title it WORST, you could just title the chapter: ...and the things we didn't like so much

or something like that.

I think this is a great idea! There are so many products out there, it can be really mind-boggling, especially for first time mom's. I have a whole basket full of different creams, bath washes, etc that we've tried. Some of them are great, and some of them, well, aren't.

I did my review in the disposable diaper contest. Can't wait to do more!

This is pretty cool. I have done two of them. I didnt post a picture of my daughter in her pamper's, although i have one, but you said u werent sure if you were going to do that or not. good luck with this, cant wait to see the finished project. i am definitely going to be watching this.
