Have you tried resetting the camera? Mine does that a lot and once I restore everything to how it originally came it works again.

I've tried everything with this darn camera... the action mode doesn't really come out blurry, but the flash isn't available and we have no overhead lighting  I miss our old camera, but after about7 years it finally hit the skids...
