I don't know personally about bases, I just know that no matter where you live there's always a select few who shit on the sunshine and make it shady.

Yeah...it's like that no matter where.   That's why I didn't put the stickers on my new vehicle....well, one reason. I also didn't want to make myself a target for "unwanted" attention during this next deployment.

I think that has less to do with the fact that you're military than the fact that you aren't "one of them"...lol. Don't take it personally...they're that way about anyone who isn't related.

yep, bare is the word... basically they drove for a few days, stopped in the desert south of Nasiriyah between some sand dunes and said "Welcome home" lol... I would die.

We didn't for the first month I'd say... showers and hospital came first... eventually they got around to the phones.

I don't think whether you are civilian or military spouse means you can't miss your spouse. Sure I get paranoid as all hell when someone knocks on my door. But even when he's home doing his civilian jobby I miss him and worry about him. If you are used to having your hubby home almost every night of course you are going to miss them like crazy if they go away for a couple of days.

same here, when my father went to iraq we didnt have contact with him for 2 months, so to me thats counts as MONTH(S) and quoting maeby... just because you get calls from your husband doesnt mean a thing about her's, every one has a different job to do and maybe what he does prevents him from being able to contact her. BOTH my parents were in the Army and we would get calls from y father far more often than from my mother, cause they did different things.
also my husband is in the navy on a submarine and they go on missions where i havent heard from him for almost 2 months, cause if they did contact us, it could mean their lives. (and i never get get phone calls cause he is under the ocean.)

so all im saying is just because you or others get phone calls and things often doesnt mean everyone else SOs in the military do.

its annoying when wives complain their hubby is gone for a weekend. but then again i chose to marry a military man.
