Finally....My labor story....

Wow lol where to start...Wednesday September 16th I had my normal doctor's appointment which I though was gonna go smoothly but then again nothing ever does lol I went in and talked to her and told her I was feeling some weird pressure so to be on the safe side she checked me and we found out I was dialated to 3cm and 80% effaced so she sent me to the hospital. When I got there they hooked me up to the monitors and found out I was having contractions about every 5 to 7 minutes so they started an iv of magnesium sulfate and also started me on procardia to stop contractions, they also gave me 2 steroid shots to help her lungs develop just in case she came early. I was there until that Friday and then got sent home on strict bed rest. That next Wednesday the 23rd I had another doctors appointment, I went in and she checked me again and found out that the sac was starting to come through my cervix so she sent me back to the hospital. I got there, They watched me for 24 hours and then sent me back home. 2 days later which was the 26th I started having really bad contractions around like 11 p.m. so I ended up back in the hospital where I stayed until 9:30 that next morning and yet again they sent me home, Only to be back 3 hour's later with contractions yet again!! They couldn't get the contractions to stop and her head was so low that they just decided to deliver her. I was in so much pain that they gave me a shot of morphine but that didn't do shit so about an hour or so later they came in and gave me an epidural [that was at like 5ish] which was heaven by the way! Um, they came in and broke my water at like 9:45 p.m., I started pushing at exactly 10 and she was here at 10:21!! Born 8 week's early on September 27th, 2009 she was 3 pound's 6 ounces and 17 inches long and had a full head of hair! She's still in the NICU but she's doing amazing! She just need's to take all her feeding's from a bottle and she can come home! It should only be about another week or so!! I'm hoping it's not any longer cause it's been 3 weeks already and im going insane!

Your daughter is beautiful~ I had a 32 weeker as well....he was only 2lbs 14oz at birth. He's now 13 months old and completely caught up~ He spent 28 days in the NICU tho...if you have any questions or need to vent....feel free get in touch with me~

AWWW! She's beautiful. Glad to hear she's going well. Hope she gets to come home soon.

All these pictures of preemies remind me of my preemie when he was little. My son was born at 27 weeks and spent 4 months in the hospital. He was 840 grams or 2lbs and 1oz. He was a very sick little boy. He came home on 02. he spent most of the first year of his life in the hospital. He is now 5 and doing great.

Aww well it's glad to hear that he's doing great!! I'm so glad!!
