posted 15th Oct
i probably wouldnt get it though if i was like under 30 weeks along.. if i was not pregnant, or wasn't going to have an infant around i wouldn't even bother.. my moms friends kid just got swine & hes fine but hes a young healthy 14 year old boy.. i'm a pregnant ladywho can barely breath the way it is.. so add a flu on top of that and id be done..

for all of you who keep saying the vaccine is "too new"...

Do you guys realize that it's the EXACT same vaccine as the regular flu shot, just a different strain of the virus? If the swine flu pandemic would have started 6 months earlier, the vaccine would have included that strain and whoever got the seasonal flu shot would have gotten the swine flu shot. BUT- they didn't know it was going to be a problem until after the vaccine was already out. But it's the same thing- made the same way, etc.

Also- true 30 years ago people had complications from the vaccine, but 30-50 years ago death in childbirth was a very good possibility...times change and technology and medicine changes.

NOT saying I advocate for people to get this, but i just want everyone to make decisions based on the right facts.

During the lab tests for THIS strain of the swine flu vaccine, 70% of the rats tested died. That alone is enough for me not to get it for my son or myself.

My daughter, my hubby and i were all around someone who had the swine flu (before she knew she had it) and none of us got sick....and she thought she just had a bad cold. She said it wasn't any worse than the flu she got last year.

I heard the same thing.. i understand people are concerned about it being too new.. no vaccine is 100% safe but alot of people in england have gotten it & so far so good..

I agree with some of that. Some, I don't.

I understand that....but it's still the statistics of it. More people have died from a vaccine than the illness itself. I'm not getting it, and my daughter sure as hell won't be getting it. My daughter gets all her vaccinations on time, but she won't be getting this one.

That's how I am, especially about the autism. But, it has some interesting facts.

Yeah, there haven't been any reports of vaccine fatality yet...but there have been reports of swine flu fatality. but the "too new" thing doesn't even apply.

Yeah. But some of them are kind of misleading. Like- Yes the virus is starting to resist tamiflu..but that doesn't change the virus...the vaccine will still protect you even if it mutates. and there were a few others I remember thinking i didnt agree with but now i cant remember. lol
Oh, the mercury, etc- all vaccines have that if they have preservative...if you get a single vial vaccine, it wont have as many (or none at all) preservatives.

I am still undecided. My sister actually has the swine flu right now (she works in a hospital), so I am obviously staying away from her.
But I read an article about the vaccine for pregnant women being different from the regular vaccine...and it won't be released until weeks after the regular vaccine is released.
I just don't know what to do!
