I get $345 a month and I have three people in my household.

3 people in our household. (me, baby and SO) He works part-time, goes to school part time.I don't work at all. We only have one car so it's kinda hard. We get $327 a month in food, and I know it helps a lot but we are still in debt $300+ a month, so it sucks. Were trying to figure out a way to work around each other's scheduals. When he wasn't working we got close to $600 a month.

I don't use food stamps, we don't need them. I will stop there before I go off on my opinions regarding people who need foodstamps having more than one person in their household.

fuuuudge. I wish I got food stamps sometimes...but we dont.

when i was a single parent me and my child got 80 dollars a month
then i got married and was way way way over the amount so we dont get them.

we will however be using them while i am on my maternity leave, i wont get paid for my maternity leave and i make the most money out of the 2 of us, so its kind of needed for that 12 weeks. then once its over we wont get any again.

My mom got them when she was alive. It helped a lot! We maybe, if we were lucky, got 100$ a month for our income. We got 500$ for groceries. and that was with 4 people in the household.

We used to get like $250 a month for a family of 4 when my hubby was working a crappy job and when he was unemployed. now he is doing better at his job and we make too much but I am happy we are able to provide for ourselves.

Like being a stay at home mom..and getting food stamps.

Im a stay at home mom...yes we qualify for food stamps.
but we dont get it because we dont allow ourselves to go over our budget..

but yeah. It bothers me that there are parents out there capable of working and dont work ...so they can get food stamps.

I have used them for the past 4 months, its just me and my daughter and we receive $320-ish a month. i just got a new job though (yay) so i have called to cancel them. they saved my life for those 4 months.

i went to get my kids medical the other day and they told me to apply so i did. i guess the income for a family of 4 is 2348 a month with taxes and a family of 3 is 1360 here in iowa so i guess we get them now? i dont know how much yet i thinik they let me know in nov or something?

I don't believe you should have children if you cant support yourself entirely, just my opinion.

ETA before people think I'm heartless I'm not. I believe government assistance and the like are there for people during times of hardships but should not be a permanent fixture in any ones life.

I got them temporarily after Hurricane Ike becausewe lost everything in our fridge. I only got like $100 a month for me, my ex and lo, but they definitely helped out! i would have liked to continue to keep getting them after the temporary 3 month period, but my ex made too much money.
