Okay This weeks soldier of the week is especially difficult for me to do, because it happens to be a fellow BG mommas husband. I pray that she and her family find peace and can heal in time! I think about you often Stephanie, and if you ever need anything you can let me know. I have no idea what it's like to lose a husband, and father to my child, but I do know a woman that I could put you in touch with that does! Anyways I want everyone to take a moment today and think about what our soldiers do for us, and think about them and their families. Because what may seem like "just a soldier" to you ...is someone elses father, son, brother, daddy, and husband!!
Army Spc. Richard A. Walters Jr.
This is what Faces of Valor has posted: Growing up in the Cleveland area, Richard Walters’ passions included his hometown Browns football team and the popular rock band from the Midwest, Cheap Trick.
He was into the band so much that he once joked that anyone he dated also had to be a fan.
As an adult, he developed another passion: his family. His wife, Stephanie. His year-old daughter, Rachel. And his unborn daughter, Piper, due in December.
Rachel, whom he called Rae-Rae, recently received a gift from him while he was away. It was a video of him reading a story, which he often did for her when he was home.
“He was a family man — a devoted father,” said his brother, Greg. “His girls were his life.”
Walters, 41, collapsed and died in Ali Al Salem, Kuwait on Aug. 10, just before he was to head to Iraq. The 1986 graduate of Columbian High School in Tiffin, Ohio, was assigned to Fort Benning, Ga.
Walters, known to family and friends by his middle name, Allyn, was on his second military career. He was a Navy veteran who served in Desert Storm. Then, in 2006, he enlisted in the Army and became a licensed practical nurse.

what a wonderful man he was... I pray He will give you the strength for you to show your girls who he was and to help them remember...you are such a strong woman!!! I'm so sorry for your loss!!
He sounded like he was a great man. I hope Stephanie and her girls can find solace in a time like this. I just couldn't even imagine going through something like this .
I dont know what I would doif I was in that situation, my heart goes out to Stephanie and her babies and I hope Richard is watching out for them and telling God to take good care of all 3 of them!
i remember reading this when it happened she and her family are still always in my prayers it hits close my husband deployed within days from hers rip richard
I just can't imagine. I just can't. When I was reading her profile...I just ...my heart sank... I can't put it into words what I feel for her, the sorrow I feel FOR her, and I don't even know her!!! I'm glad she has the will to get up each day and take care of her lo!!
I'm so deeply sorry for her loss. I know it must be so very hard with a child as young as her daughter, to explain her daddy isn't coming home and to be expecting another child. I think I would've crawled in bed in a fetal position & laid there forever I commend you Ericka for doing these every week
