H1n1....

I am about 20 weeks pregnant and will be Traveling back Home for a visit from Germany back to the States with my Hubby and 1 year old daughter the End of Nov-Dec and then back to Germany again...My question is would you get vaccinated and your child as well with the H1n1 before such a big travel. I am Progetting vaccinatedin general I am just a bit stressed over this one with all the hype...What are your plans?!!

I am getting them for all three of my kids and my dh and me also if possible

Take a lot of vitamin C and D before you travel and you'll be okay as long as you remember to wash your hands.

Just be sure to wash your hands, don't touch your face..etc...

Nope....I was told by a pediatritian at our local hospital that UNLESS you have SERIOUS underlining medical conditions; the H1N1 virus is the SAME as any other type of flu you would normally get!!!

No need to freak out over it if your healthy!

No, im totally pro vaccination, but we will NOT be getting the H1N1 vaccine. there hasnt been enough research on long term side effects. take lots of vitamin C and wash your hands well and you'll be ok.

Nobody in my house is getting the flu shots, either of them. Im all for vaccinating, but the flu shots are silly to me for people to get if they are healthy.

I agree... I am the same way; plus I read somewhere (maybe on here) about how like 80 something percent of the animals tested with the vaccine ended up dieing from complications with in weeks!

me nor my kids will be getting it. they have not done enough research and my kids arent going to be guinea pigs for something they just whipped together in a hurry. its just a mild case of the regular flu. thats all. just keep your hands washed

Did you guys know that 2/3rds of parents aren't getting their LO's vaccinated for H1N1.....???...


My mom was like you are going to risk her getting H1N1 I'm like jesus...

I sure wouldn't. IMO it hasn't been tested long enough. Plus I don't get the flu shot in general.

It's not a mild case of the flu, it's actually quite aggresive. My perfectly healthy very close friend is in recovery right now. She has no underlying medical conditions and felt fine and when she got home from work she realized she suddenly had a runny nose. Within a few hours she was aching feverish and throwing up. She tried sleeping but ended up going to the Hospital bc she literally though she was about to die. In the 12 hours that she noticed the symptoms to the time the treatment was given her body has also contracted 3 other infections. The treatment worked but the antibiotics made her have an allergic reaction. She is glad to be recovering though. I still don't think I would do the vaccination though simply because it has not been tested enough. Kevin had the regular flu shot with no side affects but I am nervous to get him the new one. I want to protect him from illnesses but I don't want to add any long term problems either...rough decision. I am like you tracy but i will be traveling to Germany from the US. I will cross my fingers for you, you do the same for me
