A new issue :'(
posted 11th Dec '06
I posted a few days ago about an issue with my baby having low to no amniotic fluid. The situation has not changed unfortunately.
Now I'm facing a new issue. My doctor does not want to do the twice weekly checks or the once a week ultrasound as was suggested in the ultrasound report. She says it is too early in the pregnancy to worry about doing that. I would accept that answer if I had not been told a second time it should be done while I was at the hospital this weekend. The attending doctor was very upset about the fact that my doctor had not put me on bedrest also. In fact the doctor at the hospital wrote me a note to be on bedrest for the rest of my pregnancy.
Bedrest = no job since I have not been there a year. At this point though, I think anything that raises my baby's chance of survival at all is worth it.
I am checking into getting a new doctor, and of course applying for medicaid now that I am going to lose my insurance. I just feel that if 2 doctors suggest something and my doctor does not want to go along with it something is wrong and I should go to a new doctor that at least shows some signs of concern.
I don't know. Am I just being too emotional (pregnant) or am I doing the right thing? All I want at this point is to give my baby the best chance of survival possible.
Any comments would be appreciated. I could use all the support and different points of view I can get right now.

If it was me, I would change doctors.. your doc has been told twice now tha tyou need bed rest and what needs to be done for the health of your baby, and is not willing to do that for you .. then yeah.. change doctors... and when you do.. let your new doc know about what was happening with the other doctor and what the other two had said.
I hope all goes well and keep us updated.

I would definately get a new dr. It doesnt seem like the one you have now has you or the baby's best interest at heart. I am sorry that you are having to go through all of this.
