do you know anyone who dress their kids really wierd?

posted 11th Oct
I have a friend who dresses her kids very strangely. What I want to know is is it none of my business, or should I be concerned? It probably is none of my business, but thought I'd share. She has a boy who's 4 and a girl who's almost 2. the boy she dresses in home made clothes that are too small. If the trousers are way up his legs, he'll wear them anyway. He'll dress him in hot pink, or lots of layers, even if it's warm out. Her daughter she'll dress in a bonds wondersuit (growsuit), sometimes two at once with a jumper and trousers over the top, or a wondersuit with a summer top and rompers over the top. You'd think it'd get annoying for changing her nappy! And she'll dress her in all her older brothers hand-me-downs, even ones he's still wearing. I babysat them the other day and they have hardly any clothes in their cupboard. Both parents have jobs so money's not an issue. I think she just has no pride in dressing her kids. I've known them since her boy was born and never have they worn something nice.
My girls don't always wear fancy clothes, but they always fit properly and are clean, and look nice. Does anyone else know anyone who dress their kids like this?

Don't know anyone personally, but I am so fussy over what Toby is wearing it's crazy. I wouldn't be concerned though, as long as the kids are dressed that's all that matters

It is a parent's responsibility to dress their children in clothing that fits properly and is appropriate for the weather. It actual can fall under the laws of child neglect if they don't. Sounds like there needs to be some further investigation into it.

random fact: you're due on my bday.

But OP, maybe she can't afford new clothes?
I know as long as I'm able my children will always be dressed better than I.
I don't even let them wear clothes that don't match....but that's just me.

Haha sweet. I am a repeat c-section so it will be scheduled for 39 weeks... if I make it to then. I had my son at 37 weeks and barely kept him in until then.. so my Dr. thinks I will go early again.

How do the parents dress? Maybe they have no fashion sense.

Personally, I hate it when even my husband dresses our son because the clothes never match like how I would put them. that really irritates me.

I knew this girl who dressed her kid in her clothes.... Adult size shirts, socks, his shoes would only be replaced once a year (and he was 3 years old.. his feet grew every few months)... And she would spend her money on booze and things SHE wanted.

there in an adorable little girl in my sons daycare class whoes clother are just horriable! lol on friday she was wearing flowered hawaian MC Hammer pants and an orangeshirt with red suspenders. Every day this little girl looks like a clown. She NEVER matches and her clothes look like they are 1980's hand me downs. The daycare my son goes to is very expensive (I am a preschool teacher there and my son gets a 50% discount to go there) so it cant be a financial issue. Her mother never matches either, lol they just moved here fromRussia. So maybe that has something to do with it. She is an adorable little girl and her mother is extremely nice! But there clothes are terriable! lol
