Thanks, her scars are a lot smaller than I expected...when she's older the only way people will be able to tell is that she has a funny looking belly button

Yea my LO didnt have a belly button he just got one made for him at this past surgery, its off to the right a little bit lol but its there! I will post pics of his scars once hes healed..I cant really tell right now, but he has a big vertical one down the middle and then his little belly button

Bella has a man-made belly button as well. I would love to see pics after your LO has healed. I'm PTing you now

This is awesome to see. I'm due Christmas Eve with my baby boy who has gastro. I have my 28 week appt this tuesday and I'm so excited because after this appt I will be seen every 2 weeks or I think he said maybe even 1 week. I have alot of questions to ask him this time around. I want to know if he is planning on inducing me and when. They normally give you a certain time don't they? I just can't wait to see him again he's getting so big.

They normally induce or schedule a c-section for 39 weeks, they like for you to go as long as you can, as long as your baby is growing well. My c-section was scheduled for Feb. 24, but Miss Bella decided to make her appearance on February 3. Good luck with your pregnancy and I hope the rest of it goes well!

My son was born with gastroschisis. He was in the hospital for 5 wks and is doing perfect, hasnt had any problems with it, and doesnt even has a scar.

Owen at 1 day old.

I was told induced between 35-37 wks. I was induced with Owen at 37 1/2 wks and had him vaginally. The doctors where I went said that they wouldnt do a csetion unless necessary bc its major surgery.

I guess its different for everyone, I have a friend from HS that went through the same thing and the doctors told her the same thing, so I think for our area its what the OBs like to do...they said nothing earlier than 39 weeks unless baby wasn't growing right. And also that it was a personal choice of OB and patient how they wanted to deliver. I was scheduled for a c-section, but even if I had wanted to do vaginal I would have ended up with c-sec because of meconium aspiration.
Your son looks great, I'm glad he hasn't had any problems with it!

Ya we were told about the whole ob preference thing, but Im glad that I did it vaginally.

Thanks! Im soo glad he is ok, I cried for like 2 days straight after we were told.

i just had a little girl on sept 15th with this problem. shes still in the hospital and its the hardest thing i have gone through. i had a c section at 37 weeks exact. i was supposed to be induced at 39 but i went into labor. she had just one surgery but she is still on the repogle and she hasnt eaten at all. i think the doctors are going to push her to get a move on because she has been SOOO back and forth for the past month.

My cousin's baby was born with gastroschisis and everything was put back in through his belly button so no scars! He came home in 20 days, so right under 3 weeks! He's 2 now and perfectly healthy with no problem, at a year he had to have the hernia surgery, but it was pretty routine. Glad everything turned out so well!
