ladybug costume ideas

Im tight on money so i cant go buy costumes for my daughter and I. So im going to make some lol The idea i have right now is ladybugs. I was going to get a red onsie for my daughter and put some black felt spots on the back and then made a tutu with black and red tulle with maybe some poka dot ribbon too. For myself i'd probably made a tutu too and wear some leggings and a red top with some spots. I might see of o can find some cheap wings too and make intenas with pipe cleaners and pompoms. What do you think? Does anyone else have any idea? I think it's just going to be my daughter and I even though her dad gets home next week. His brother is terminal so he has a lot to deal with plus i dont know what he could dress up as or if he even would lol

I thought it would be but i found super cheap tulle on ebay

If you can't find cheap wings, you can make them with coat hangers and some sort of fabric stretched over them. Just shape the hangers (or I guess wire..you can get pretty cheap thick wire at like Lowes).

Sounds cute! My little girl is having a ladybug bday party and I have her outfit picture in my posts if you want to look! I did not make her onsie, but I made the antennae. Target has really cute red sparkly mary janes. If your SO wants to join in withyou ladies he could throw on a jumpsuit and be an exterminator 

AND yes, making on will most likely be more expensive than you think.. most materials required come with more than you need and you end up spending the same or more. I got Cady's bugsuit at Gymboree for $25.. which is not bad at all

So i think i can do it a little cheaper. I have the elastic already, the black felt. So al i need to get is red tops and tulle. I have ribbon too and i can get headbands for a dollar at the dollar tree and just cover them in ribbon. The only pricey thing would be wings

To make the wings, just get 1 or 2 wire hangers, and buy some panty hose to stretch over it.
