Castor Oil success stories anyone???

So I'm 38 weeks today, and dying to have this baby. My doc has actually approved of me trying castor oil, she also mentioned it's the only thing she knows of that has a chance of inducing labor. I'm 2cm dilated and 80% effaced. I'm waiting to see how my doc appt goes tomorrow before I try anything. Anyways....I was just wondering if anyone has had success with this....if so were you already dilated? how much? and how far along were you?????? Thanks guys!

Sex and walking also are good ways to naturally induce labor.

I know you want success stories, sorry But I dont approve. It can cause the baby to pass meconium in the womb, which can kill it. Get a 2nd opinion, I would hate to hear something horrible happened. && Let me mention Im overdue and nothing has worked for me. S/he will come.

I'm sorry, I don't have anything nice to say about castor oil. I tried that once.

My second baby was due 12/7. A few days after my due date had passed I decided to try castor oil to hurry up and go into labor. I mixed it with some OJ to cut the taste. I actually got about 2 ounces down. About 30-45 minutes later, the first contraction hit. About 10 minutes later, another. About 15 minutes later another. This went on for about 2 hours. Granted, these were reasonably strong ones, but they weren't consistent. I decieded to go for a car ride on bumpy streets (I was desperate ya'll) to help myself along. After about 15 minutes in the car, I had the worse pain EVER! However, it was not a contraction, it was a stomach cramp. The uterine contractions stopped and the stomach cramps began. I had my BF rush me back to my house, which was the longest 10 minutes ever. I was sweating and rocking by the time I got home. I dashed into the house where I experienced explosive diarreha for the first and only time in my life.   I ended up being induced 10 days after my due date.[/quote]
