Porait help please

OK I hate to admit it, but I didn't get any portraits of Ashton since birth. I just scheduled him for his 6 month portraits, meant to do quarterly, but 3 months came and went to fast. I am taking him to Sears on Monday to do our first set of portraits. I was wondering for you mamas that have gotten baby portraits, what is the best way to dress him and what are some good poses to do. I just want a really cute package. Any ideas would help me tremendously thanks so much.

it's ok that these are his first pics! the only reason I do 6 weeks then 6 months is to see how much they have changed.

let me see if I can find Alexanders 6 month pics, or a few at least (he had them done twice 'cuz they fucked them up the first time)

I go to Sears every month to get my daughter's pictures taken. The website has samples of backgrounds and props you can look at. This month I'm putting her in Halloween attire and her costume since they're going to have seasonal backgrounds for it.As for poses I don't really know what they would do for your son because my daughter is only 3 months so she's either on her back or belly or propped up lol. But you can also check the site for the types of poses too. You can also bring your own props if you have an idea.

Our Sears sucked! Hope yours is better. They were rude, kept us waiting over 45 minutes...which is hours in 6 month old time...and then had the nerve to say we had to come back later to finish the shoot because it was their dinner time...screw that!

We got our year pictures at Picture Me and they were much better. the one in my avatar is from that.

Best thing we did for Ellas-dressed her in a onesie and changed her right before pictures. Didn't want her puking/spitting up on her picture clothes!!! I wouldhave hated to be the moms who were complaining because their kids spit up on their clothes before their pictures gotten taken, there must have been about 5 moms there that did.

Lol my daughter does that everytime..even after we change her clothes. Sometimes it doesnt show up in the pictures though

KJ I am nervous about the sears thing, maybe I should cancel. I am not certain as my sister had the same story happen to her. Waiting late etc... My appointment is right before lunch. I love the pics of Alexis btw. To the one who said that changing right before the pic is good, I am thinking I will do that as we live over 30 miles from the mall. I am thinking just a simple background and a super cute outfit and hope that this goes well

Do what you feel is best, everyone gets a different experience...worse case scenario you hate the pictures and don't buy any.
Oh and bring two outfits just in case something does happen to the first one...and make sure you try it on Ashton before you go.
I made that mistake with our 1 yr pictures and her outfit was almost too tight..oops!
