Only 13 years old

I saw this on headline news today. This was the only link I could find on google, but this is amazing. A 13 year old found a lump in her breast and told her mom. It indeed came back positive for breast cancer. Apparently she sadly has a 98% chance of the tumor returning. I hope 2% wins out. I think this is a pretty amazing story

Isn't that crazy, I think I heard on the news of a 10 yr old girl that happened to as well...

And that's why you teach your kids about things young!

At 13 I would think the lump WAS my breast! Wow!

before i started working at my old job, my bosses daughter was about the same age and died from that.  

Wow that is crazy... My mom had breast cancer years ago and hasn't had it return yet... thank God! But that was hard to watch let alone a 13 year old have to go through all that.

It's so sad. A girl I went to high school with died of breast cancer at 16. her grandmas both died of it and her cousin.

I think that I saw that on google. I just can't believe it can happen to someone that young, but it is important to be educated from a young age. Now I am sure she will need to be monitored for life, but at least they know to watch.

Unreal to think of things that way, but yes you should. I am 32 and half the time don't think to examine my breasts   the only family history is on my dad's side so not relevant, but I still need to realize it can happen to anyone. This is a great story to bring attention to breast cancer awareness.
