Teething or cavity?

Help....My 2 year old seems like he is teething but doesn't want to eat and when he does eat/drink he says it hurts. He is really crabby anddrooling a lot as well. Have any of you little ones had a cavity and what were the symptoms.

I would think Cavity. I know when I use to eat or drink something sweet my teeth would hurt so bad. It was a cavity.

Im little one hasnt had a cavity, but I did work at a dentist office. Little ones that did come in and complain about their teeth hurting turn out to be a cavity.

Great...What a suckyu mom am I. Bringing in a 26 month old with a cavity. I don't even know where to begin...Do they put him under? There's no way in hell he would sit still...

They can sedate him. My little girl hasn't had a cavity, but had some issues with the roof of her mouth where she needed to be sedated to have it worked on.

You're not a bad mom - these things sometimes just happen..... no matter how often you brush their teeth.

I would suggest a pediatric dentist. They are wonderful at least the one my daughter goes to is.

You're welcome. Can you ask him where it hurts? Does it look like there is a cavity anywhere? dark spots... or black on any teeth?
