My friend

Akosua had her baby...My friend was only 25 weeks pregnant and her water broke last week sometime; shes been in the hospital every since. Last night she had her baby and she weighed 1 pound 9 ounces...Pretty healthy i suppose.. She was getting those surfactant shots for a little over a week and she said the baby is doing alright..Whats the chances of something happening to her while shes in the hospital?

I know someone who had a baby who weighed exactly 1 pound and as far as I know he is still living and doing okay. I'm pretty sure she brings him home next month or in November. Your friends baby was actually pretty big for 25 weeks. I think the baby will be fine. I will keep her in my thoughts

There are lots of things that can go wrong, but there are also babies that survive anddo well at that age, lets hope she is one of them!

They say that around 26 weeks, if the baby was to be born, it has a good chance of survival. She in my thoughts.

It is really hard but for some reason shes acting as if she just had a baby fullterm. Shes not worried. She said the baby is basiclly breathing on her own (which i really dont believe)

well even if she's in denial I'm going to pray for her. Maybe it makes her feel better to think that everything is ok. I'm pretty sure though if her baby is born at 26 weeks though it's probably not "very much ok" like a full term baby.

But I know that if you keep telling yourself everything is all right then eventually it makes everything alright. Even if it is in your head.

I told her everythings okay, shes one of those friends who insists that her baby is better than mine and i let her think that. She was happy her baby was coming; BUT said she didnt wanna c her with tubes down her throat. She said the babys trying to pull the tubes out so she can breathe on her own

Oh wow. This actually sounds like a girl I know. She insists that her baby is always better than mine. And she wants it NOW. To the point where she says she's going to have the baby any day. But she has the same idea she doesn't want to see it with tubes down her throat. I just let her think what she wants and pray for her to see someday. But when I announced I was pregnant, she announced she was a month ahead. Then announced she felt the baby move since 10 weeks. Then she claims to have went into labor at 25 weeks and now is on bedrest to avoid it because the contractions are so painful and has to do these tests every week. Blah blah. I still pray for her, even if she is in denial.

I just saw your post and am praying for your friend. Tough road ahead, but I know of an April 2009 mommy who had her son in January. He is healthy and I believe with fight your friend's baby will be just fine also

Exactly how Akosua is...She had an anterior placenta though so there was no lyin about movement lmao. I been feelin this bugger move for a while..And my belly is bigger than hers lol...Sad part is..She thinks her daughters better than mine and all...BUT my daughter will beable to come home with me...You know?
