birthday woes

well we moved to PA a little over a year ago and our twins are about to turn two. For their one year birthday we had a huge party and invited all of my husbands family. But we don't know what to do about their second party. First it is Oct. 30th which falls on a friday. My BIL has a football game that night and my in-laws go to every game. I can't do it the 31st b/c my husband and I have to work that day and we will be doing trick or treating that night. I don't know what to do b/c I really want to do something on their birthday. What is your advice?

Have the party a weekend before their actual birthday.

We're having Anslie's actual party the weekend before and then doing something with just me, hubby and her on her actual b-day because it's on a Wed.

thats the problem though it won't really be a party just a family gathering for their birthday so i'd rather do it on their birthday other wise their birthday will come and it will just be another day
