OP, to your original question.. I showed maybe 20 hours after i gave birth.
I had 2 epidurals during my labor, so i was really shaky. I ended up having my husband wash me for the most part when i sat on the little seat in the shower.
You may want to rethink eliminating your husband from so much of the birth and recovery experience. Having Aaron there to see our son born and having him help me shower and even learn to nurse our son are some of my fondest memories. It brought us so much closer together.
