He doesnt seem interested....

posted 17th Sep
My 8 1/2 Month old little guy is refusing to eat! Well, he'll nurse and he'll eat his little graduates snacks, but he won't eat baby food anymore, and I've tried offering him other things he can pick up and feed himself like soft carrots, avacado, banana, bread...

Does anyone know of any tricks to get him to eat healthy foods? I just feel like him only eating the snacks isn't a very nutritious diet. Is it just a phase, or should I be concerned?

Thanks in advance!

I hope so. My daughter suddenly hates any kinda of baby food I give her. It seems she's just content with the bottle.

Keep offering. Eventually he'll start eating more. My little guy was straight table food at that age, he refused the baby food completely.

He's getting all the nutrition he needs from nursing right now.

My youngest did that. He got to where he wouldn't eat anything if he couldn't eeat it himself. He won't let us feed him anymore, he wants to do it. lol Between the nursing and the snacks I'd say he should be fine. I've heard before that all babies need is breastmilk up until they're a year.

All they need until 1 year is formula or breast milk. That is pretty much all my daughter got. She wasnt really interested in much else until 13 months.

Thank you everyone, I feel better knowing that Nicholas isn't the only one going through this, seems like it's a phase! I guess I will just keep offering him things, and if all else fails he's getting breastmilk, so he'll be fine! Thank you again!

Just keep offering, and remember he only really needs the breastmilk. My oldest went through a phase at that age where he'd only eat toast and yogurt. Eating out was impossible unless we brought yogurt iwth us.

Hey mama!! yeah.. Jayley is like that too.. I think it's just a phase.. she used to love eating baby food and then she stopped for a while and I just continued to breastfeed because everytime I'd make the oatmeal or baby food it'll go to waste because she just wasn't interested... she's starting to get into the groove of it again (thankfully) ... but yeah.. I'm sure he'll come around..

Kristy I posted something like this a little bit ago. Aeris really won't eat much baby food I can get her to eat the bananas an that's about it. So we do the snack thing too. An we give her small amount of the stuff we eat. Like at my parents house on Sat. She has potatoes and some bread. An with her not eating too much foods I make sure she has more milk during the day cause she loves her juice lol. But she has reflux so I put cereal in the bottle ( doctors orders )

I hope he starts to eat stuff soon! I am trying green beans with Aeris when she wakes up from her nap cause she loves them as well!
