I hope so too! I just came back from my appt and i am 1cm dilated & 25% effaced. She said i might get a bunch of contractions after being checked cuz she was wayy in there lol She said i'm almost 2cm... oh and -2 station. Yippee!!!

Everytime i hear stripping membranes, my skin crawls from how it sounds. But what is it exactly? Never heard of it till i joined BG lol

I went to the hospital at 2 am last night because I couldn't feel him move, and turns out I was in early labor. They monitored me and I was having contractions every 2-3 minutes, and dilated to a 4. I walked around and they checked me again an hour an a half later, and since they only had one room empty and I wasn't dilating "fast enough", I was sent home. I took a shower and tried to sleep, but still having contractions that are keeping me awake. Wish me luck!

It's where a doctor/nurse/midwife checks your cervix, and while they are up there, they sweep a finger between the amniotic sac and the cervix. All it does it separate them for a second to irritate the cervix a bit to "speed things along"... doesn't necessarily mean you will go into labor though.

Today is my due date! Still pregnant  no signs of labor just regular BH

My dr's appt yesterday, I was told I am 3 cm dialated, and 80% thinned out? She also did something that hurt like a bitch >.< and has been hurting ever since, I swear if that dr stripped my membrane or w/e it is called without telling me I will be mad, because it was not even my regular dr -.-

What did it feel like? When I was in my first pregnancy..she asked and I said sure.. but it felt like she just moved the baby left to right.. kinda like a sweep while she checked me. Two days later.. my water broke! I did have some discharge with blood in it. Today I went in and I am 1-2 cm and and the doc said alil discomfort and it kinda felt like he went left to right also.. but he never said anything about rupturing my membranes! He said that her head was still high and that I was thick. Ever since then I get cramping and my stomach hurts where I felt he was at.

I am due tomorrow and my doc gave me high hopes of a weekend baby.. OH PLEASE, BE A WEEKEND [OR DUE DATE] BABY. MY BODY CAN'T HANDLE IT ANYMORE! lol

It felt like she moved her fingers exactly like you said, and all day now I have been getting twinges >.< I mean I know she did something different then the last check up I had, cause the last time, the lady didn't move her fingers around at all she just felt to see how dialated I was, this time this lady moved something around, and it still kinda hurts =( guess I could just be being a worrywart and what not but still, you would think they would ask you that kinda thing..
