I just had a MAJOR toothache for about a week! The second night I had it, I couldn't sleep.. I woke up in TEARS! My husband took me to the E.R. They gave me an antibiotic shot [which made me VERY drowsy!] and then they prescribed me penicillin to clear up any bacteria that may have formed and then percoset for the pain.... I don't have dental insurance but they told me to see a dentist ASAP... I was in the middle of moving from Georgia to California [hubs is military] and I had no idea what to do but to just suffer through the pain... percoset didn't really help until it knocked me out... then I was able to sleep but after the 4hrs was up, I had to take another one. It was no fun and I seriously thought that I had to go get my tooth pulled. Then yesterday it stopped hurting, ironically when I was going to call a dentist and get it pulled out! They say its not great to go to the dentist this far into your pregnancy since you're almost in your 3rd trimester... so if you can get some stronger pain medication besides tylenol, I would... and just give it a few days to go away and then AFTER the baby is born, go see a dentist!

How many weeks are you? one of my wisdom teeth abscessed when I was 36 weeks and my dentist wouldn't even see me since I was in the last trimester. I ended up in the ER the pain was so bad.. they prescribed me antibiotics and tylenol 3's and thankfully that cleared it up.. it was so bad I couldn't even close my jaw.

I had a broken tooth when I was pregnant from me biting down on my tongue ring (when I had it) and it started bothering me really bad at about 33 weeks. I went to my dentist and he called my OB who approved him to give me Percocet for it.

He gave me enough to take 4-5 times a day for about a week. But I only took it once, maybe twice if it the pain was really bad. And only used it for a day or two until the pain stopped.

I'm glad I still had some because I needed that shit after Aiden was born lol.

The baby takes ALL of your nutrients away from you, thus meaning all the calcium that was going to your teeth/gums before you got pregnant, is now being taken away and so its easier to get infections/toothaches so its very common! Also ask your OB if you can start taking calcium pills, might help you as well.

I'd get in to see a dentist and get it looked after asap, they may still see you seeing as you're still in the second trimester. My tooth got to the point where I couldn't eat at all because I absolutely couldn't close my jaw because of the pain and my face got all swollen and shit. It sucked! I sympathize with you sooo much right now.
