Strange baby rash

My son is 3 months old and we noticed a rash on the side of his bottom a little bit bigger then a dime but oval shapped. It almost looks more like a burn but we definatly would of noticed if something had burned through his diaper and clothes. Its really red around the outside of it and has a yellow tint in the center. Not really like any rash Ive seen before. It didnt seem to bother him when we put diaper rash cream on it (even though the cream didnt work) and he doesnt have a fever. Any ideas what it is or how to get rid of it?

Maybe he's allergic to something ? I remember when Oliver was little, we gave him juice for the first time & he got a rash on his leg, and we stopped and it went away. Hmmm, I'd say call your Pedi, before you do something with it.

ring warm?

Sounds like ring worm. I actually have ring worm right now. It itches like a bitch, but it's going away thanks to Lamisil!
