Just need some advice/insight.

I don't go on this thing ever anymore, but I've realized after getting no where with doctors and family members who refuse to realize there is ever something wrong with a child in our family, that I needed to turn to here to get some answers, hopefully. I believe there's something wrong with my son, but I'm not quite sure what it is.

I'll give you a little background information on him. He's 11-months-old, and had a very tough birth, he came out not breathing and was in the NICU for two weeks. At his 4 month check-up, the doctor noticed his front soft spot was starting to close already so he referred us to a Neurologist. We went to see the Neurologist three times so far, and he pretty much walks in the room, measures my sons head and says "he looks great to me" and proceeds to walk out. Due to his soft spot closing early, he developed a ridge on the front of his forehead, which is now, getting less noticeable but it's still there. The pediatrician has told us that the soft spot closing early usually causes slowness in development but that I have nothing to worry about because my son is developing beautifully. Well, that's all good and well to hear, but I'm with him everyday and I see all of the things that he does, they don't.

I could be over-reacting and being ridiculous, but I've noticed a few things that I have never seen a baby do before and these things are making me nervous now because I don't know if there's something wrong with my son. About a month ago, I noticed when he lifts his arms to be picked up sometimes he will have like a twitch or something and start pulling his head towards his lifted arm and repeat it a few times. He also throws the BIGGEST fits I have ever seen a child throw before in my life and get so angry at some things that he literally gets purple in the face and his eyes are bulging out. Now, I understand that babies gets upset and throw fits, but I've never in my life seen a baby get angry like this before. He also isn't talking yet, which all of the other kids in his daycare are and some of them are even younger than him.

Like I said, I could be over-reacting and all of this is just "normal" but I'm not a docotr, nor a professional mother... this is my first child and I'm just extremely nervous. If something is wrong with him, I would like to take care of it sooner than later. If anyone has any input on my issue, it honestly would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yasmine twitches a lot too but I think its because she thinks its fun.
She also isnt speaking, speaking. She can say a few words like mamma, dadda, this, that, no. And she's 14 months. Speech development can come at different stages so I wouldnt worry too much about it.
Other than that I dont know what else to tell you, but you can always get a second opinion. Go to another neurologist and tell them thatyour son has been seen before but that youfelt it was necessary toget a second opinon.
Good luck!

I thought if a baby's soft spot closes to early that they do some type of surgical procedure to keep it open? I wonder why your Neurologist is unconcerned?

As far as not talking, that is not really concerning, my daughter did not talk until 26 months and she's fine. They all speak when they are ready. If your baby was over 2 and not speaking then that would be a problem.
I would try to record the twitching that you see. That may or may not be a problem. Is the Neurologist aware of the twitch? My son had a bad twitch (we called it the "Jimmy-leg" but he eventually grew out of it.
I would seek a second opinion since you are obviously not comfortable with what your doctors are telling you. There is nothing wrong with that & they should understand your concerns. That "Mommy-Instinct" is a very credible source of information.
