Wellbutrin side effects

posted 30th Aug
About two weeks ago my dr prescribed me this for my depression. I am 17 weeks pregnant but he said its one of the safest ones to take. Ever since I started I haven't been able to concentrate or focus. I find myself at work not getting stuff done. Earlier I was trying to read an article and I noticed I was getting confused because I wasn't really reading. Like my mind wasn't there. So I looked it up and it say...

Call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:

  • seizure (convulsions);

  • severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash;

  • fever, swollen glands, rash or itching, joint pain, or general ill feeling;

  • confusion, trouble concentrating; or

  • hallucinations, unusual thoughts or behavior.

I have a dr apt on Tuesday but I was wondering if anyone else has taken this??

I was put on Wellbutrin because my doctor thought it would stimulate my brain and help my ADD. I haaaaated it. It made me paranoid, gave me full on panic attacks, made my blood pressure shoot up to dangerous levels. It was awful.

I wasn't aware it was a drug for depression and anxiety until later. I have no idea why she put me on that for ADD.

Also, the fact that you're pregnant could be whats making your confused and unable to focus. I was so scatterbrained when I was pregnant, it was crazy.

But obviously you should still talk to your doctor about this since it says to in the warnings for the drug...

Like I said, you need to let your doctor know. I don't think its a big deal, he'll probably just consider changing medicines. With anti depressants you sometimes have to try a few to find which one works best. I had to do that when I was in high school, I went through 3 medicines before finding the one that worked. Its because some of them work on different brain chemicals.
