He just does NOT listen...

My just turned 3 yr old does not listen and I'm starting to go insane! I can say his name 5x before he even looks at me and if I tell him to stop doing something, he just continues right on as if he never hears me. I know he doesn't have a hearing problem! He is so busy all the time! Anyone else with this type of kid?!   I hope he doesn't have ADD or something!

My son is the same way sometimes, it must be a male thing. lol

my son is 4 yrs..and he does the same thing..its so annoying. We go throught this everyday.. 

My kids all do it. lol and only one of them has adhd

Do you spank, or punish?

My 5 yo does the same thing. It doesn't get any easier... Altho he has gotten alot better. It's 3yo rebellion. They think it's funny. He probably doesn't have ADD, he's just 3.

Time outs and taking friends (stuffed animals) away worked for us.

We only spank if he's REALLY bad but usually just time-out....it does work BUT not for long!  

My daughter does that. I just say something I know will get her attention, like her favorite food. It goes something like this; "Lily"..."Lily"..."Lily!"..."LILY"...."strawberries" finally she'll turn around and respond..."tawberry?? OK!!"

Aidan is only 17 months and I could use a damn megaphone to yell his name and he doesn't even flinch... but if he hears a man's voice he's all ears and will almost always obey... yeah, I get walked on all over by my toddler.
