Where did you start

When you started potty training. I know there are probably lots of threads for potty training but Im curious what first steps that you took if you are potty training now or have potty trained a child before.
So far I have gotten Lily to poop and pee once on the potty just by realizing when she was about to and putting her on there but that was like a month ago and now she really doesnt like to sit on it.
Sooo just want to get the ball rolling since she will be two in a little more than a month.
Please share your beginning experiences!

Gage is kinda starting, he is interested in it. I have a potty chair in the bathroom. He sits on it when I do, or before his bath. And when he goes we make a big deal out of it! Gabby was fully potty trained at 18months, but she was ready. Gage is almost ready, not fully tho.

There was this e-book I bought with my 2nd child because I found out I was pregnant and I did not want two in diapers. Potty train in three days, main thing is to throw away diapers and don't use pull ups, although I did at night. Only put them in undies and for three days stay in one room with all your comforts and give them as much juice/water or milk to give more opportunities to go. If they go on themselves keep reminding them how icky they are, make them put there underwear in a basket, get new ones, tell them stay dry. When they go which you will have to remind them like every 45 min or so praise them and make the biggest deal about it do a dance be silly just crazy praises. He was potty trained with only accidents at night in three days and with-in the week he started telling me he had to go. If they start to get scared about going number2 which mine did, he said it hurt. By the looks of it I knew why, but I just stood over him and rubbed his back, told him it was ok, relax. It has been about 4 months since we started and he now stands to pee and poops and cleans himself with out any assistance, although I do help just to make sure it's all clean. Best $17 investment I made, try it! I believe the trick is using regular underwear and consistency, and tons of praises. Don't go back just keep pressing forward!
