it could just be that since your really not far along at all, it could just be your body shedding the old stuff just to make sure the baby has the "cleanest" safest environment to grow in... thats what they told me... but i was bleeding/passing clots/cramping... not just spotting... but i honestly wouldnt be toooooo worried about spotting... esspecially around the time you would have gotten your period....

I agree with Buttafli and LittleTee, don't worry...but call your doctor anyway. The same thing happened to me that happened to Buttafli. I was spotting brown and then dark to bright red. I called the doctor and they said it was normal, just as long as it wasn't followed by cramping. Just as Buttafli said, your body is probably shedding any "leftovers". It happened to me more than once with some clotting so I rushed myself to the doctor. They did an u/s and everything was fine and they couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Probably just those pesky "leftovers"...

But, if YOU dont feel right about the spotting then you have the right to DEMAND a check-up to make sure that you and your baby is ok. The doctor might tell you it is nothing to worry about but if you need to see him/her to ease your mind then I recommend doing that.

Good Luck!

I have a question.
I bled somewhat on saturday night, then went on to spotting on sunday... my midwife wants to wait untill next week monday to give an ultrasound, but she is almost sure that I miscarried, but she didn't actually examine me, she didnt even touch me!
And I've been puking my guts out everyday since saturday morning. Should I belief what she says?? I mean she didnt even check me

Well, when I had my spotting and bleeding the first thing I was asked is, "How are your symptoms?". Apparently if you've miscarried (not everyone is the same) your symptoms of pregnancy are quick to diminish. Your breasts may not be as sore, or your nausea goes away, etc. But if you're still getting sick than you may still be. Have you taken another pregnancy test? If you did miscarry there is a chance that your HCG levels have dropped to show a negative. I don't know. If you don't feel comfortable with your OBGYN's answer then go to the ER. If you tell them you've had bleeding they will do a blood test, urinalyis and an ultrasound (depending on the hospital) and they will check the size of the baby from crown to rump and also check HCG levels in urine AND blood. If you and your baby are ok, they should all match. The only thing I can recommend when you go in is DO NOT let them do a D&C if they ASSUME that you've lost the baby. AND if your doc is as much as an ass as she sounds, change doctors. Put your mind at ease, because if you don't have a decent doctor then your visits with her over the next 10 months will get worse and worse. It may even get to the point where you won't want this doctor to deliver your baby and that can make your experience horrible.

Yes, I had it more than one day and two of the times after I went to the bathroom there was quite a bit of blood in the toilet. Which of course, scared the hell out of me! But like I said, I went to the doc and they confirmed I was ok. After I went in I felt like a chode but they told me not to feel stupid because it is better to be safe than sorry. And trust me, when it comes to the life of your baby that could never be truer!

Just to try and put your mind at ease a little bit; This is my 5th pregnancy. I miscarried one then had two healthy children and then miscarried another and now I am preggers again. I had spotting in every single pregnancy during the first two months. Sometimes the spotting would last a week. If you are miscarrying you will more than likely know. When I miscarried both times I was bleeding bright red and had cramps along with it. But with the healthy pregnancies the spotting was brown. Just a little FYI.
