No heart beat found at 9 weeks

posted 17th Aug
Perhaps posting this type of stuff provides encouragement or helps in the healing process....I don't know. I guess at the end I just want to see if anyone has had this issue, which might bring me hope.
I went for my first ultrasound today; I had 2 regular ultrasounds and 2 vaginal ultrasounds and one doctor saw a fetus but could not find a heart rate. The 2nd person was a tech and she didnt see a fetus nor a heart beat. I've been crying all day in confusion. I have no pain, no bleeding, have been feeling the pregnancy symptoms all along. I even took a pregnancy test and it was positive. Tomorrow I'm suppose to get the blood results to see if my hormone levels have increased. I'm so confused....I thought a miscarriage caused bleeding? has anyone had this experience?

sometimes the heart can not be seen that early. it depends on the positioning of the baby in your body. the hormone levels will help you to know for sure.

I've seen moms have trouble seeing or hearing the heart beat up to 10 weeks and went on to have a healthy pregnancy. Good luck, I hope everything is well and your hormones levels check out.

If it's a miscarriage you may not bleed, it's called a missed miscarriage.

Mamathe same thing happened to me. I had all my symptoms but they did a routineultrasound and saw that the baby had died/stopped growing. I started spotting several days later and then bleeding and passed everything several days later.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Miscarriages can take up to two weeks before they start. They may give you the option of waiting (which I chose) or having D&C, do what feels best to you and your husband. Please msg me if you need to talk, I know how hard this can be.

It's called a Missed Miscarriage when you have no bleeding or cramping. It's more common then not sadly. I'd wait until your levels come back...

I went in for a regular checkup at 17 weeks pregnant with my second son... the nurse couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler. They looked with the u/s, and found that he had no heartbeat. That was on a Friday... I went home for the whole weekend, and had a D&E on the following Tuesday. I never had any bleeding, or other miscarriage signs.

You could also not be as far along as you think you are... and they're having a hard time finding things because it's too early. I hope your numbers come back how they should! Good luck!

I think shes worried because they couldn't see the heart beat through a vaginal ultrasound. With this pregnancy I saw my baby's heartbeat at 6 weeks through a vaginal ultrasound.

She had an ultrasound. You may not be able to hear a heart beat, but you would definitely see one at 9 weeks.

Sorry mama. You probably were pregnant and the baby stopped developing soon after conception. Your hormones would still be elevated though and cause a positive HPT. I'm sorry for your loss and wish you the best in the future!

hi well just wanna tell you that u and ur baby are in my thoughts and prayers i felt exactly how u are i was also in that situation in the beginning of my pregnancy and i was real early like 3 to 5 weeks maybe and i had took a pregnancy test came back positive and then like 2 days after i started bleeding and i went to the emergency and they also did a vaginal ultrasound and didnt find no fetal pole like no heartbeat either and this 1 dr said he was gonna give me a pill to take cuz maybe i was miscarrying and i should take this pill he was about to give me and go home and rest .and i was like ohh hell na i aint taking no pills and i didnt believe my baby was dead .. so as time went on i was going to dr visits and gettin 2nd opinions and they kept monitoring me and makin sure my hcg level was going up and it was so it appears that it was normal to bleed in da beginning and all and guess what till this day i am still carrying my babygirl and i am due sept 14th so just dont give up hope okay no worries ur baby will be fine .. keep us posted ... =] god bless u

Not to scare you or anything but,

It could be what they call a "Missed Abortion", my mom had one (she did not have an abortion), she had no clue, no signs of a miscarriage.
She went in for a regular checkup and that's when they found out it had stopped developing weeks before, they said if they would of found out later then it could of killed her because it was rotting.

I hope it's not that and I hope everything turns out okay!
Don't worry too much!
