I don't like the idea of government confiscating private wealth and redistributing it as they see fit. Why should someone else decide whether or not someone keeps money they work hard for?
To me, it's more accurately decribed as theft.
Yes, many public services are "socialized" as you say. Some things (emergency response) etc. are probably best left that way. However, other things like education, Medicare/medicaid, Social Security are giant black holes of government spending that would function better if they were privatized.

I like your comment about "don't like it move or do something to change it".

Why? This is one of the last capitalist societies in the world, and a clear majority of Americans would like to keep it that way. Many people ARE working to change the current govermnet that is abusing power and money.

The problem with socialism is that it only works in theory. Socialism removes the incentive to be innovative and work harder and smarter - and since people are naturally greedy and self-serving, socialism is naturally a flawed system.

Look at countries that have been fully socialized - USSR (failed), Cuba (failing), or China (slowly trying to switch to a capitalist society because they realized that it's not working).

What incentive would I have to go to work if I could get just as much by sitting at home surfing the internet?

Seriously, if you think France is so wonderful, I have to ask why you haven't moved there? Before this recession, their unemployment was twice as high as ours (haven't checked it lately), their higher education is pretty much a joke (we have dozens of the greatest universities in the world) and it would take pages to tell you what's wrong with their health care.

I'll never understand why people want the government controlling every aspect of their lives (socialism).

I do not thnk that full socialism will work in the US, but why not socialize medicine?

I see people everyday sitting on their asses collecting unemployment after doing shit TO get fired, or on welfare anyways that doesn't stop me from working hard because it's all about ethics.

France is great, but not for me I will receive my surgeries there if it's decided I need them. Here it will cost me (with insurance) at least 3K.

I do thinkk AUstralia has a kick ass idea when it comes to healthcare.

Why medicine? And if you want socialized medicine, why stop there?

Why shouldn't the government provide us all with free housing and food?

In utopia, yes but people have free will. Everyone should be entitled to proper shelter and sufficient nutrients of course, but like you said socialism fails. Nazi Germany had the best luck, but that had to do with war and free labor. Plus Nazi Germany isn't a model people want used for their government is it?

So then, you DON'T think socialism is a good idea.

If you don't think socialized medicine will be the catalyst for furthering the socialist agenda in every other aspect of our lives, you are mistaken. It's not nearly as cut and dried as the "public option" the Democrats keep touting. It will be a disaster for all Americans if it passes.

Besides, we are FLAT BROKE. Even if we ALL wanted socialized medicine, we couldn't afford it.

I like the idea of socialism and if people all worked towards it (say we picked select people) I do believe it could work. But as a realist America for damn sure couldn't do it.

So what you're talking about could work on a smaller scale. Like, within a small village. I don't know of any times in history socialism has ever succeeded, and now politicians think they are so magical they can make it work for a country of 300+ million people?

Did you even watch the video's? They are going to implant (straight from the Bill) us with the RFID implant chip, turn our schools into vaccination centers' (page 1391) tax anyone who doesn't have health care at 2 and a half their income and tax anyone at 2 and a half percent who has too much health coverage. Our financial records will be included to state where and whom we can be seen by, not to mention as a doctor told me, it's going to be even worse when they then establish the new training for doctors and how they can take care of patients. Anyone read the article by Newsweek "The Case For Killing Granny?" This will be our new Health Care, not to mention it goes against our 10th Amendment. This is like eating an ice cream sundae, then adding in some poop, it's still going to taste like crap. Just like it's still Unconstitutional. If we don't stop it here we're going to see our Constitution in a museum of what our country used to be.

It won't be free, that's the problem. I don't know why people from other countries are downing the American people opposed to this. We as the tax payers are the ones that have to pay for this Socialistic enforcement.

We don't want to do it. America, due to its sovereignty has produced more than the rest of the world combined with innovation and production. That's a fact, take that away and we'll all be under tyranny. You must not understand the simple difference between Communism and Socialism. The ideology is the same, the ONLY difference is that instead of like Socialism where you have a private business owner and it's government controlled; Communism is government face and government run. That's the ONLY difference. This IS Communism and not for America.

Your doctor has no clue is he a part of Washington? I work in a hospital I grew up around doctors/medicine I can say a doctor said... all day. OUR doctors are lobbying for the bill. We see patients who need help and can't get it because of insurance barriers we have to tell someone we know this medication or pain pump would really help you and help you get your life back, but insurance doesn't cover it so pay it out of your disability income like that's enough OR your SOL.

Implant chips horrible idea anyday, but more sci fi that realist. Australia gives those who vaccinate a small amount of money, those who don't vaccinate don't care and go on with their lives those who do get a little bonus. You don't see implant chips or riots or anything. Why woudl the US just up and do all this regulation? That supposed bill sounds too complicated.
