Am I being mean?

My BD wants to see our daughter so I told him to come and visit but he said he doesn't have enough leave. He said he'll pay for our ticket to come see him and at first I said I can but then I told him no because he and I don't get along and if I go there, we have to stay with him. If he comes here, he'll have to get a hotel because I live with friends (we split the rent). He took leave right after he got back from Iraq to go see his friends. Am I being unjust or should I suck it up and fly to him?

Personally, I would suck it up. It isn't about you and him, it's about him and your child who needs to chance to visit with Daddy.

Let him pay for you to go up there, why can't you stay in a hotel?

Just go out there. If it's a huge issue, make him pay for a hotel for you. (and for using all his leave time like an ass.)

I think he's doing his part in wanting to see his child and doing what he can to do so...and you should compromise for your child...but that's just my opinion...

She doesn't have to pay for him to get a hotel room, why should he have to pay for her to get one?

Suck it up. he might be telling you the truth about his leave time and if thats the case youre being petty and mean by "punishing him" for going to see his friends... he deserves a chance to see his baby just like she deserves to know daddy.

And as far as his leave, he is telling the truth because he used it all to see his friends when he came back.
