On sunday night (July 1st) I couldn't sleep all night, I kept waking up having irregular but painful contractions. Finally at 9am I started timing them, they were getting close together and very painful. They were about 10 minutes apart, and I couldn't stop throwing up. So my husband took off work in case I decided to go into hospital. By noon, the contractions were 6 minutes apart, I was still throwing up, so we headed to mother-in-laws house to drop off my daughter. I went with my husband to get lunch and we went into Target for a few minutes, and after a few minutes I demanded that we get back to his mom's right away so I could call my Dr. The nurse said to come in and be there in 20 minutes and they would check me out. They were going to send me home after seeing I was only 3cm dilated and they did an ultrasound and baby was still breech. The Dr. that seen me had to rush to labor & delivery, so I waited about an hour so another Dr. could talk to me. Meanwhile my contractions were about 5 minutes apart and I was in pain. He decides he wants to check me again before just sending me home, and in one hour I went from 3 cm dilated to 5cm. He admitted then and said to start the c-section since I was breech. Within 2 more hours, they were giving me my epidural and doing the c-section. Brayden Alan was born at 5:06pm Monday, July 2cd, he weighed 6lbs 2 ozs, and was 18 in long!! I was only 36 weeks along, and he had trouble breathing. So right after he was delivered they took him and cleaned up and sent him to NICU. I didn't get to see him or hold him at all until the next afternoon. He was in a bubble breathing oxygen, but he went downhill and they had to bump him to a c-pap and on 50% oxygen, and was talking about a possible ventilator. I was freaked out really bad. Then they did a echocardiagram on him and realized he had a PDA, which means one of vessels didn't close off at birth that should have. They gave him a series of 3 shots to close it, and it did right away. They also have him a shot to mature his lungs a little. He improved greatly. We held him for the first time tonight and fed him his first bottle. Until now he has just ben getting IV fluids. He may get to come on Mon. if not then Tues! Here are some pics!
