MIL and Baby Movements

I just wanna know if anyone can relate...

I'm not feeling baby move much since i have an anterior placenta..... And i'm still too early for others to feel strong kicks outside my belly....... I'm also a little down about that, cause so many women due the same time are feeling nice kicks cause of the baby's position..... Meanwhile, my mother-in-law will come up and touch my stomach and say "promise you come and get me if she's kicking today so i can feel." My husband can't even feel baby right now or yet. I'm not about to let her be the first..... and I am REALLY uncomfortable around her... she's high-strung, hyper-sensitive and unfortunately extremely unintelligent and dense.
I just feel squeamish around her, and i'm just not comfortable with many people touching my belly--especially her.

I guess i'm borrowing trouble, but once i feel the baby, I'll want my husband to feel her, but if my MIL's around, I won't be able to tell him without her touching.

I feel like she thinks she's ENTITLED to touch my stomach. Most of the people i know will either ask (which i'm MUCH more inclined to say yes), or it'll be a guy friend who's all shy and just puts his index finger on my belly, not knowing what to do. That's just kinda entertaining to me.

yea.. the first time that happened to me was FIVE weeks. And i was like... um, baby's the size of the tip of a pen.

My MIL will do this too...and then she'll claim she felt the baby move when she's not even moving...which I think is a really strange thing to lie about. But...I just don't tell other people when she's moving, only my husband. It's weird...and I feel like that's something only we should share at least for awhile longer!.

My mil NEVER got to feel my daughter move..I felt my daugther move around 15 weeks and my husband got to feel her at 16-17 weeks. But I had a complete placenta previa so I don't know anything about anterior or posterior placenta. I also hate people touching my stomach when I was pregnant unless it was someone I was very close with like my sister or my mom.

here, here! I can picture that of my MIL, and i cringe..... But i'm sitting here and i JUST felt a few good KICKS on my left hand side with my hand there. and text my husband at work about it. I still feel no desire to let my MIL feel it. Like you said, it's between the two of us... I just can't get over her TELLING me i have to tell her when baby's kicking. That woman does that about EVERYTHING she says. She only asks close-ended questions, and makes you say what she wants to hear. ANd if you try to disagree, she'll reword it, or go SULK (cause she's 3 yo) and complain that you don;t like her =\

I have anterior placenta too and no one has ever felt him kick while I'm standing up....I have to be laying down and most of the time hes still hard to feel unless I'm laying on my side...Then its game on. But me and SO are the only 2 that have felt him kick. Hes a big boy too!! almost 7 pounds! I do have alot of people that touch my belly but they give up pretty quick when I tell them that they wont be able to feel him kick.

yea, i also feel like if i didn't know a woman well enough, i wouldn't even ASK to feel that. In fact, of all the pregnant women i've known, i've NEVER EVER felt a pregnant belly with a kicking baby. NEVER. And i never thought it was hard to put myself in a pregnant woman's mind and figure if she wanted ME touching her belly, she'd tell me.

yea, it's kind of weird... I feel like i'm letting them down when people want to feel the baby kick. But why would people expect that mind of thing? Is it on the movies too much? Every pregnant woman has people touching them and ALWAYS feeling the baby? =\ It's bizarre.

Yeah! I think its on movies waaaay too much! I don't think its anything like the movies though. But unless I'm craby that day...I don't mind that people touch my belly. Doesn't really bother me much. Most people like the "thought" of pregnancy and babies and I think that its just a happy thing for them. But I tell you what....with having braxton hicks like I'm having...I don't want anyone touching me!!!

haha, and then there's people you'll be around that you KNOW you'll be in a crappy mood around. I get that. And sorry your uncomfy. I'm not looking forward to the third trimester. The second is too much fun...like, sex-wise, lol.

I used to not go 2 days without sex!!!! Now I'm like " go stick it in a light socket" lol I never thought I'd feel that way!
