Quoting MrsFernandez1nOnly:“ Im in SC right now. In alot of states they make you sign your name to get drugs with pseudophedrine in them. Do they do that in Alaska? Just wondering”
i'm not sure. i had a midwife, and when i was constantly congested i asked about sudafed and she just told me it wasn't a good idea, considering my blood pressure issues. a doctor might make you sign though. that's interesting, i never knew that.

My doc prescribed me and all the other women he sees Zofran which is for chemo patients. Also I went in because I couldnt keep anything down and they gave me an IV with phenergran which is amazing.

Quoting Brittany(♥):“ Idk if this would be any more helpful but if you go to http://www.safefetus.com and click "drug search" ... [snip!] ... look up any type of medication and see what class it is like A,B,C,D or X. A being the safest and X being the most dangerous.”
Thank you Brittany, this was very helpful! I am bookmarking the site NOW!

from doing research pseudoefedrin (sp) is not safe the first 12 weeks of pregnancy as it can cause problems with the gastrointestinal tract of the fetus.

They ask for your id because that is one of the ingredients used to make meth.

Hi ladies!
Just thought I'd let you all know about a Canadian resource - it's called Motherisk. It is run out of Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children. They are basically the source for all drug related information in pregnancy here in Canada.

http://www.motherisk.org/women/drugs.jsp

Feel free to call their toll-free line if you have specific questions - I did. They were very helpful and explained the answers to my question thoroughly.

I accidently took ibprofen, well not an accident but i took it like a week ago before a doctor told me to not take it. I was to embarrassed to say I took a high dose of it for my back and headache. Will it have an affect on my child? I am 15 weeks along. Please let me know

Thanks for the info!! Also just to let you know for cold and congestion my pcp just informed last week to stick to either robitussin dm (which you did list) but also you can take mucinex dm. I'm going to run it by my ob as well when I see her but it has the same things as the robitussin but since its newer I don't think its gotten very popular or anything with the pregnant crowd.

I'm sure all of you who took meds on the bad list are fine as well as your babies, as long as it wasn't in a high dose over a long period of time. I myself was prescribed Xanax and before I knew about my first child I took it normally for 3 weeks, he is a happy heathy 2 yr old. My doctor also told me Tylenol PM was safe during pregnancy, I used it once or twice a week during my whole pregnancy. I'm prescribed Pheregren and Zofran this pregnancy for Nausea and vomiting.

I took Tylenol PM with my second child, and he is fine and healthy ...I think that not everything is bad for you and your child, as long as it's not abused. But, thats' my opinion, as your doctor they will tell you how they feel.
