Any Older Moms to be out there?
posted 1st Dec '06
After reading so many posts I'm starting to feel like I need to retire or something. It would really be great to interact with some moms around my own age. We older gals have our issues too. I'm 41 and this is my 6th pregnancy but will be my 5th child. My children are 22, 21, 17 years and my little Chloe is 23 months old.

Hi! I'm 40 years old (almost 41) and trying to conceive. I did get pregnant almost immediately after stopping the pill but sadly lost the baby quite early in the pregnancy last month. The doctor said because it was so early and everything went "smoothly" we could start trying again right aways. I just had my first period since the miscarriage and so we're getting into the "fun part" of trying again!!
I have 3 children from a previous marriage. A boy, 17 years old; a girl, 15 years old; and another boy, 12 years old. They are all looking forward to a baby brother or sister.
How far along in your pregnancy are you?

I'm 35 and feel ancient! My husband and I have been together for 16 years and married for 5 years, but the time was just never right (money and health issues). A little over two years ago was started TTC and this is our 2nd pregnancy (we lost our son last year in the 2nd trimester). If I was scared last year when I was 34, now that I hit the "35-year-old-timers wall" it's insane! I've had so many tests with this pregnancy; thankfully all have come back with only good news!

Hi,
I am a young at heart 43 year old. This is my second marriage to my college soulmate and we are just so excited about this birth. I was thinking I am really old. I have a 14 year old son and thought that that was my contribution to this planet, but we planned for this and almost right away, I found out we were expecting a girtl. Presently I am 19 weeks and due on May 8th. I am pretty calm about all of this althought my friends say... better you than me. While they are seeing their children off to college, here I am ready to start again with a new one :--) Anyways, it would be nice to talk with other older moms who are out there. I do not know another person my age who is pregnant and I live in Atlanta. Would love to have a buddy to share stories with.
Take care
43 and loving it

Hi, I'm 33 - will be 34 when I give birth. This is my third marriage (won't get into the details of the losers before), but needless to say I could never carry a baby past 6 or so weeks. For the last 6 years I have been unable to get pregnant due to infertility and menopause creeping onto my doorstep. After I stopped all fertility drugs and gave up....OOPS! 5 months later, CONGRATS to me and Merry Christmas! Talk about elation! The doc said I've only ovulated 2 times in the past 2.5 years...one of those times was in Nov. Anyway, I'm nervous, scared, etc. about the whole thing because the doc talks about me as if I'm 60 y/o because of the menopause complications (like my g-ma). Anyway, that's me! Hi!

Hi, I'm 44 and this is my third pregnancy. My other two kids are my 21 year old daughter and my 17 year old son. I am 28 weeks pregnant and this has been one hell of a pregnancy. I truely cannot wait for it to be over. I feel like I do not even recognize myself. I am so huge and swollen and sick and every symptom possible. I am so excited about our daughter being born and so is my husband. I guess that I handled it better when I was younger, my body now is like "what the hell is going on!" Just thought I'd whine a bit. Reactions from everyone are them saying "you two must be crazy starting over," and we probably are. It is my second marriage and we really wanted a child together.

Wow your story soundslike mine... kids are 21, 18, 16 and a 12 yo step. Just found out I am pregnant with new husband. We did get pregnant last year but lost the baby at about 12 weeks.... hoping this pregnancy is not terrible and trying to concentrate on what a blessing this is.

Hi yall
I just turned 44 yesterday. I am going to deliver in about 6 weeks. The count down is on. I am like most of you. Second marriage, we realy wanted to have a child and I already have a 14 year old son and he has a 9 year old daughter.
This is going to be very interesting. I already feel diferent from my first pregnancy.. mostly calmer. Did not go to any of the prenatal classes but decided to go on the hospital tour next week. I figured, I canstart screaming for an epidural as I am wheeled down the hospital hallway.. and once i get that let's just get this labor thing over with.
I can't wait for my daughter, I hope to have a smooth delivery. All the best to everyone too.
