Can baby activity cause contractions?

posted 4th Jul '07
Hey ladies, I have a question for you all.

My girls have been super active all day long... so active that it hurts like crazy... well, since about 4 this afternoon I've been having BH contractions pretty much every 9 to 11 minutes apart. I've been timing them for 3+ hours now and they are not stopping. Do you know if these are being caused by all the activity??? Keep in mind that their combined weights are close to 10 lbs now so it literally feels like they are trying to bust out. I know that i'm not dehydrated because I've had over 1 gallon of water to drink and my urine is clear. I've tried lying down and sitting and changing positions but they don't stop... any advice?

It is possible for your babies to be causing your contractions. Given how far you are and the fact that your having twins I would be calling your doc just so they know whats happening and maybe even to go in and get checked 'just in case'.

Good luck and let us know what happens

i agree with her.

you should call your doctor and get check out especially if you've had them for 3hours.

Im sure that its just from them being so active, and im glad to see that you went into L&D... its not too too early, but it is early, im sure that if you are contracting they will give you something to help stop. but if its time, its time... and twins are expected to go anywhere from 33-37 weeks. (i did lots of reasearch after my sono... cuz the lady wasnt sure if there was one or two, but as of now she said it looks like just one.)

keep us updated hun!

~peace and loves!~
