Pre Deployment Brief

We just got back from my hubby's pre deployment briefing. What great fun that was! NOT!!!!! Way to many people and not enough chairs. Luckly we got there early because I wanted to make sure we were sitting by the door so that if Kayla started getting fussy I could take her out into the hall and walk around to calm her down. Hell I couldn't even see the door they had so many people standing in the back! It was set up so bad!
And I really didn't even need to be there. All the info that was put out I already knew. Only thing that got put out that I didn't know was when thier half days started and a more narrow deployment date range. He is now leaving about 2 weeks earlier than was originally put out. Other than that it was a waste of two hours that I could have been home. And on top of that Kayla just wanted to cry the whole damn time so even if I didn't know what was being put out I still wouldn't know because I had to keep getting up with her!

Ok end of my vent! LOL.

I hate those things.

I'm sorry mama! I didnt go to the last one either just cause I kind knew what to expect plus I didnt want to pay the KV's $9 hour to watch my son so I just stayed home. My husband thinks they are good for families gearing up for their 1st deployments but famlies that have already been through it kinda know what to expect. I hope his block leave drags on and on and the deployment goes by quick!

They set ours up the same way...too many ppl and not enough chairs! And instead of giving the seats to the women, the men take them all up and you have a bunch of women with babies standing in the back.

Im sorry they moved your date up, it dosnt seem fair that they can do that.

I only went because hubby had to go. I used to have to give a brief when I was in the Army so I know most of what they put out anyways. Plus I know the PAO soldiers, cause they were my soldiers, and they give me all the info before hand! It's just a waste of time!

He just came off of his block leave about a week and half ago   But he's on leave again this week because I started school and Kayla doesn't start daycare till Monday. Trying to enjoy the time we have. Luckly half days are starting soon!

Hes going to get some extra time with the baby too, thats awesome.

Yeah he's happy about that. He tries to spend as much time with her as he can. I'm glad that he was able to be here for the birth. And at least he is deploying at a time where she's not going to remember that he was/is gone. He said he would rather miss some of her first rather than have her asking everyday were daddy is.

Yeah, thats really hard..my husband deployed last year when Kieran was 2 months old and this year when he deployed he was 14 months and the first one when he was 2 months was definitely easier.

Those things are a waste of a time...lol...

Yep and they are so not prepared for them at all. You would think that with all the deployments Riley has that the units would be able to get these things down packed! Guess not!

Ours was actually prepared lol...they had us at the redeployment center with the bleachers and they told us a rough estimate of when and when training and block leave was

The info was prepared, but everything else was a mess. We were down the hill at the conference center and they had it for the entire squadron. They let people pick if they wanted to come today or tomorrow. Most people came today and they just were not ready for that many people. Oh well I get all my info in my email anyways.
