My birth story....

I had my little girl at 6.43 this morning she weighed 7lbs 10... After over a week of off and on contractions yesterday I had nothing and had come to the conclusion everything had stopped, which didnt bother me at all since I was only 38 weeks anyway.... I went to bed feeling very drained and a bit sick at 11pm only to be woken up at 3.50am with a very intense painfull contraction, I timed the next few and they were coming every 3 minutes so I woke up my hubby and phoned L&D waited for my dad to arrive and then left.... I got to L&D at 4.45am was checked and was 5cm so while I waited for the birth pool to be filled I had a bounce on the birth ball, even tho I have said all along I wanted a natural birth I did have gas and air to help take the edge of the contractions and mainly because all the research I have done says there are no known side effects for baby of gas and air and if anything the extra oxygen is benefitial and it also helped with regulating my breathing... anyway I got into the pool at 5.10am and stayed in there until 6.25 when I needed to get out for the loo. After I had been to the loo the midwife asked to check me again and as she did my waters broke but I was 9cm nearly 10 and within minutes I needed to push. I asked for the back of the bed to be raised so that I could lean against it on my knees after about 15 minutes of pushing my gorgeous daughter arrived in the world...... With exception to the first half an hour after I gave birth where I felt sick which went away as soon as I was I actually feel pretty good... I am not as sore as I was after my other 2 children and I dont feel as tired either even tho I have still yet to get any sleep nearly 12 hours after her birth..... My son is in love with her even tho he keeps calling her Mira not Mia lol but he has been sat staring at her since we got back home about an hour ago lol

she really is a beautiful little girl. and I enjoyed reading your birth story, it seems like you had a very calm birth...and it was littered with english slang which made my american day. lol. congratulations sounds like you did great!
