Crying Baby - Frustrated Mom

posted 26th Jul
My son is 2.5 weeks old. I made a post the other day (and was attacked for it) on the amount of crying he does, and trying to let him CIO. He cries constantly, and we think he has colic or reflux. We've tried everything - but he just cries, and cries, and cries.

I can't take it. I break down when my husband isn't around. This never happened with Kaiden - she was such an easy baby. I realized tonight that I only take care ofKellan when I HAVE to - and pass him off to dad when I don't.

I know that your emotions and horomones are fucked after you give birth - but this is hard. I want to leave with Kaiden and never come back. I just can't handle the crying. I can't make him stop - nothing I do works.

I can't talk to my husband about it because he just shrugs it off - but something is wrong with me....

i know its hard mama but its worth it in the end

Do you breastfeed or formula feed?
Have you talked to the doctor about it?

Hang in there. It is only TEMPORARY. Your baby loves you and needs you, its hard when all they do is cry, i know how that feels.

I don't know if it's PPD or not - and I have no idea how to bring it up with my Dr.

As far as the colic goes - his Ped shrugged it off when I suggested it to him...so I don't know what's wrong. We've tried Gripe Water and Colic Tablets....

He's formula fed - which of course I feel horrible about too.

He hates his paci.

omg-deja vu. I was feelin the same way. Wrote about it on here too. I know exactly how you feel. Its kind of better for me, my son is 5 weeks old now. I understand his cries and his routine alot better. I also bought mylicon which i put in every bottle which make him less fussy. Im jsut use to it now. Its tough now but You will get through it. Im by myself so I had to deal with the cryin ALL NIGHT.

do you have any family around who could come over for support? My mom has helped me so much. It's really hard in that first few weeks when you don't know them and they dont know you yet. have you tried wearing him, or a swing?

We tried Mylicon - didn't help.

I ordered a Moby Wrap and am waiting on it - but now I don't even want to hold him, let alone wear him. I don't want to be around him at all - he hates his swing too.

Is it possible he's having an intollerance to his formula?I would talk to the pedi again and demand that he looks into it further. I have a friend here who's baby had a few allergies to her breastmilk, and those allergies limited her on what formula she could be on.. but once they put her on the right formula she wasa completely different baby.
Don't let them shrug it off, you NEED answers, and if they wont give them, get another opinion.

My sisters child was like this for the first couple months. She cried all the time. Nothing made her happy. Had to hold her for hours.(rocking and swings helped alot)I know that it can drive you nuts. Bring it up to your doctor again. Its really stressing you out and it shouldnt just be shrugged off.
