Two babies within a year?

I am asking this for my sister. She just had a baby March 25 by c-section. She is an idiot, trust me, I already laid into her. She was not on birth control and she is pregnant again. She and her SO really want to keep this baby but she is wondering if this will damage her body. Can you have 2 c-sections within a year? Her estimated due date is March 6. Help, she really doesn't know what to do.

I would ask my OB. He'll be able to direct me with that. Has she ever considered a VBAC?

she should really talk to a doctor.

They'll monitor her to ensure she's safe.
My oldest daughter was 5 months old when I became pregnant with my youngest daughter. They didnt do any extra precautions with me (although I didnt have a C section).
If they're concerned, they'll just keep an extra eye out.

there's gonna be problems.
if she just had a section 3 1/2 months ago....she's gonna have problems...she has a super high risk of her uterus rupturing.
and its way too soon for her to try VBAC.

yes she can have a c-section within that short of a time frame. i got pregnant when my daughter was 11 months old and i have the option for a vbac insted of a c-section. the dr. will list her as high risk and keep a close eye on her to see if she could have any problems. since her body isn't fully healed she wont have to many growing pains.

No, I have never heard of it, what is it?

I asked my OB this after my c section. And he tld me that it's not ideal, but you can do it.

It's not have 2 c sections in a year, it's not being totally healed from your first, and rupturing

that happened to my cousin... she did have problems with a cyst forming under her incision and went into preterm labor and the baby was born a few months early with a few problems as well. of course this is one example and everyone is different in the way they heal. she healed just fine after her second c section.. maybe would have gone to term if it hadnt been for the cyst so dont scare your sister to death with this one example!

No dr in his right mind would deliver VBAC right after surgery. She wouldn't be healed for long enough for the pressure of pushing.

One of my good friends, her and her sister are 11 months apart! She was born August 1982 and her sister was born July 1983. They call them Irish Twins! So its possible, and they are both healthy!

I had my baby Dec. 18th 2008 and I am due Dec. 5th of this year. I believe she can do it... she will probably just be listed as a high risk pregnancy and they will just keep a closer eye on her.

I'm pretty sure she HAS to have a c-section. I was told that if you get pregnant within a year after having a c-section, you automatically have to have a repeat c-section, no choice of VBAC.
She will probably just have a lot of problems. It's not really good to get pregnant so soon after having a c-section. Things can go wrong. She can rupture. She should see a doctor ASAP.

It takes like a year to heal from a c section.. and that's when she's due again. No way would a dr agree to VBAC.
