God Bless u. I lost 2 pregnancies due to incompetent cervix. My first at 26 weeks and 2nd at 21 weeks. You are so blessed to have made it so far without a cerclage. I finally had a daughter, but had the cerclage placed at 12 weeks. I made it to 37 weeks gestation and she was an 8 pounder! She's currently 15months. I'm currently in week 34 gestation with her baby brother and also a cerclage placed at 12 weeks. I've been on bedrest since the end of April and also on procardia. I still have contractions but nothing major.

I'm sorry for your losses mama. Yeah everyone is surprised I've made it this far. My doctor told me if I ever get pregnant again, I'll also get a cerclage at 12-14 weeks since we have hindsight now. This was completely out of the blue; I was induced with my first son. Thanks for the encouragement.

If you follow your bed rest stricty, you could last a bit longer! Just take it seriously and drink a ton of water. Realistically though, you've made it to a good gestation. No one wants a premature baby, but at this point, your baby has a great chance. If you could last 4 more weeks, you'd pretty much be in the clear. I have a 28 weeker and a 30 weeker, so let me know if you have questions! Best of luck to ya girl.

HOLD UP!!! THERE IS HOPE!!! I am proof.....i had an incompetent cervix with my first child.....in fact i had a threatened m/c because of it. Once they figured out i had an incompetent cervix, my doc put in a pessary....it doesnt close the cervix, but rather shifts your baby weight towards the back instead of the front so that the cervix will not open due to pressure from the baby. It was put in in the office, no pain, no meds, you take it out every few weeks to clean and then its put back in and best of all--NO BEDREST!!!! I went to 37 weeks until my planned c-section with only the pessary and there was no talkof cerclage or anything else. My doc even said cerclages are not good because they still dont have any guarantee you will carry to term even if you stay in bed and that the pessary has actually been used since the MIDDLE AGES for incompetent cervixes!!! Tell your doc or anyone about this....it really works and it helped me to actually be able to go out and enjoy my pregnancy too!!!
