posted 11th Jul
so i had a mommy send me a private message asking why i had one of my boys circumcised and the other not. my answer we had our first son done and delivered our second boy at a different hospital and the nurses scared DH on the circumcision so he would allow me to have it done.. I want to know what everyones opinions are on this

I got the same Pm
I circumcised my son
But Circumcision is more healthy. Later on in life an uncircumsized penis is more likely to transmit the HIV virus and HPV. Also there is a much higher chance of the man to develop penile cancer. Furthermore, you have to clean the "Smet" out of the penis or it will develop a bad odor.
So , in my opinion circumcision is best. also, it is not that hard to take care of, Kaden had a little bandage on there , and for a few days we put vaseline on it but that's about it.

I dont agree with doing something like that to my sons body unless for medical reasons... it is his body and if he wants it done that should be upto him.... but then I dont agree with ear piercing either....

I just feel they are decisions that should be left for my children to make themselves....

I personally feel like it's cleaner and it doesn't look like an elephant trunk later on in life, I thought I'd save him that embarrassment. My insurance didn't cover mine, I had t opay 250 to have it done at the hospital the day after he was born.

This happens to be such a controversial topic, which is sad.

In my opinion, and with my personal research, I find circumcision much safer, easier, cleaner, and there are no studies showing impotency (one woman tried telling me that circumcised men are 100% impotent...tell that to my grandpa who had 7 kids, my father who has 3, and countless other circumcised daddies) or other issues for circumcision.

So really, it's all about personal preference because of the lack of studies for both sides of the argument (it's considered cosmetic for this reason).

I'm all for it.

i don't see the point. i think it's unnecessary, and that most people do it because they don't want their son to look "different" from their father....(religious reasons aside)
my son isn't circumsized..i don't think it's a decision for me to make. when he is older he can decide what he wants done to his body.

If a man has hiv or hpv it doesnt matter if he has been circumsized or not he will still pass it on if he has unprotected sex...... I dont know where you found that piece of information but its complete rubbish....

We got it done. I let Ryan make the decision, since he's a boy and knows more about it.

The pain factor is a huge issue, as an infant the baby will be in a small amount of pain for a few minutes. As an adult or adolescent, the paint will be greater and for longer.

But on that note, the decision should be made my the parents and the parents alone, nobody elses opinion should effect it, you do for your child what you want.

I also read that uncircumcised men have a 40% higher chance of contracting STD's and STI's.

My father is a physician , i got the information from him and his partners when i was deciding what to do. Also, there is a Ton of research backing this up. It is not "complete rubbish". Maybe you should do more research.
