Go sit her in the corner? And let her frustrations out until she has cooled off and you can have a talk with her about her behavior.

Timeout time!
My stepsons HATE timeout. They have to sit facing the wall, with their hands under their butt (otherwise they'll keep playing) for like 2 or 3 minutes, which is like an eternity to small children.

As her stepmother, you should feel comfortable disciplining her, especially if she lives with you guys part-time. I don't believe as a stepmother, it's my place to give them a swat on the ass the way I would with my own son (when he's older) or my little brother. That is their mom and dad's place, however, if I think my stepsons need to be swatted ie, running out in the street, jumping off their bunk beds, and whatever else, I let my DH know.

Shes not crying. I sent her to her room and now shes just opening and slamming the door shut. Ugh im so frustrated

Her dads on his was home hopefully he fixes it but hes very lenient with them, I think he still feels guilty even though the divorce wasnt his fault. Lol

She has an 8 ear old brother whos playing outside in the water and that doesnt even motivate her to listen

If she gets out of time out you put her right back in the corner. Even if you have to do that 500 times, she will eventually stay there and then when she is quiet she is to stay there for 5 mins. She will get it eventually and it is a lot of work to do in the beginning.

After 5 mins. go down to her level and talk to her about her behaviour. Tell her if she does it again she will go to time out and ask her for an apology. Then totally clean the slate. Good luck,

Great I am so glad, next tantrum put her in time out and keep putting her there, a lot of parents give up after so long but if you do that you win. I run a daycare so I deal with a lot of kids and if you are persisitent it always works, congrats.
