Is this an appropriate way to hold a 6 day old baby?

Not really. They need to be supported. He looks like he could fall. I'm not going to lie. When I played with Avagail I'd do stuff like that, but I waited till she could hold her head up for a minute or two. But I always held her on her stomach.

The baby doesn't seem to mind, but I sure would... they need head support... it looks like he's(or she)about to be dropped

Yes. It looks like the adult is trying to get a good forward view of the baby. They cant hold the baby for that long like that as it wouldnt be comfortable but it looks fine to me.

Errr, Idk. I'd have to see the rest of what was going on. My daughter could hold her head up on her own verrry early on. I honestly can't remember having to hold her head up for her lol.

It's not really horrible as long as there is a second hand supporting the head. I can't really tell if there is one or not. If there isn't any head support then no absolutely not. I wouldn't hold a baby like that for long though. It's better to snuggle them close.

She was able to lift her head up since she's been born but not support it very well. That's her dad holding her like that. I just found that picture now. I left him that day for an hour to run some errands so he can get some alone time with her without me breathing behind his back since he was coming for R&R to see her. I just want to know if I have the right to be upset. Her head isn't supported and he could have dropped her.

Maybe the other hand is there, supporting the head. You just can't see it. It looks like his head is being pushed up...

If that is from a long time ago then I wouldn't get upset about it.

Apparently, his other hand is too busy taking the picture to support her head.
