How long

did your babies army crawl before they actually crawled. My little girl is 10 months old and army crawls like a champ, and cruises, and i am pretty sure she is gonna walk any day now. But she won't pick her big ol' belly up off the ground. Maybe whe never will really crawl regular, but I hear it is an important step in the learning process. Any one got any advice?

Less than a week. Last week she was army crawling, this week real crawling.

Hmmm, she has been doing this like 2-3 weeks now.

I don't have any children, yet, but my little brother went straight from the "army crawl" to walking. There was no in-between for him. He never had any problems walking, either.

Chloe army crawled forever! then one day she just started crawling with her belly up off the ground and then a week later she was pulling herself up on everything and then she started walking a couple of weeks later it was crazy

If it really concerns you I would call her doctor and see what they think

watching....Khloe has been army crawling/scooting around and turning in circles for 2-3 weeks now but has not progressed much since then! I am worried too b/c I have also read that it is an important step with their learning/development process.

Maybe she will go straight to walking. But the crawling part is supposedly critical to language arts and reading skills, something about crossing the midline. I dunno. My aunt who is a 2nd grade teacher told me all this.

Really? I've taken a few different child psych classes and never heard that one. It could be true, though. If it makes you feel any better, my brother is very intelligent. He was speaking in full sentences at like 14 months! He never had a problem learning to read either.

I am not too concerned really. Just curious mostly. Olivia is already pulling herself up on things and walking along them, and she can get off the couch and or bed without help. I guess it will be okay if she just does this.

Yes we really should. I feel bad I haven't gotten together with her in forever either. Maybe one day we could do lunch or just go to the park by her house for a bit to catch up.

That is a good point. My son never army crawled, and only regular crawled for like 2 weeks before he walked. He was a very early talker too and very smart. He didn't even crawl till like 10 1/2 months.

She told me how you told her you were pregnant again, and it cracked me up. It reminded me of just how your were in High school.
